It's been building up over the past two years and hit critical mass after E3 2015. Only 4 years ago /v was still Nintendo-central but that's long gone. Most Nintendo fans have retreated into hiding until things pick up.

I guess I'm biased since I like Nintendo and greatly enjoy my Wii U - my favorite series is Metroid if that helps indicate that my view of them is not all rainbows and sunshine though - but yeah, /v/ actually is at its worst lately. /v/ shits on everything but can also simultaneously talk about it. Now that Nintendo is having a rough time, the shitposting has overtaken everything else though. I think Sony fans are more vitriolic than Nintendo fans, and no one talks shout Microsoft anyway.

I dunno mate, I have my fair share of complaints against NoJ. Amiibos are cancer, shipping Wii U with pitiful internal storage that can't hold more than a couple of game patches, hardware quality from the company's the lowest it has ever been, Nintendo Badge Arcade has got to be the most predatory F2P game I've ever played, etc.
I hate that PS+ is mandatory for online, sure, and memory card prices for Vita are also shitty, but otherwise I haven't had as many issues with Sony this gen.

/v/ has always aggressively worshiped Nintendo from 2007 to 2010. It's only changed since now they are losing the console war. Sony is winning now, but they'll probably never rub it in as hard as the Nintendo fanboys did with the Wii.
