Looking at the wiki it looks like, although Bruxa and etc are "higher", Higher Vampires are still a separate sub-species, which Regis and Dethboy are. Also Bruxa in the lore are supposed to be resistant to sunlight, so I don't know why the girl in the trailer burned up from it.

By the way guys haven't played the expansion but I noticed the footprints Geralt leaves in the sand and mud dissapeared sometime around patch 1.11. Did they fix it?
Not having a post-game mission where you get to make good on your promise to go back for her was a pretty bad missed opportunity.
I really wanted to kill her right there in the orphanage. That, the lore stuff at Tesham Mutna and seeing how Detlaff sicced a horde of vampires on a town because his waifu didn't meet up with him just made me hate the entire race. Seriously Regis was the only one who wasn't just plain awful.

It say "A couple of days later" at the beginning of the cutscene after finding Syanna, and the conversation with Henrietta reveals that Geralt and Regis were trying to find Detlaff (or at least that was their job for the past couple of days).
The DLC was great but it had way too many long cutscenes / conversations without save points.
