Hey wow, not to be mean or anything but most of you are basically pub shitters. Learn to play in a team or you'll never be good. Topping the charts with weak characters and claiming everyone else to "git gud" does nothing. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each characters in a team environment allows you to use every character to their maximum potential. This is a team based game, learn to utilize the "team" part. Don't rush into the enemy head first with Reinhardt and wonder why you're dying. One problem with Zenyatta is his team needs to know how to play with him. He's very slow compared to Lucio with his speed boost and Mercy with her dash. Couple that with Zenyatta being pretty hard to play and he seems underwhelming to most people. He's probably slightly underpowered as well, since he can be one-shot very easily and his heal is rather slow.

It all depends on the situation. I had a match on Hanamura Defense where he really shined.
Attackers plowed through our first point in no time, and we held them off the second and won by spreading out in small groups and stonewalling all attempts at flanking. I was Zenyatta in the middle buddied up with a Roadhog.
What I learned from that match is that one thing Zenyatta has over any other healer is long-range healing, which also extends beyond walls thanks to how long his orbs stay up after losing line-of-sight.
Lucio needs everyone to stay close. Mercy needs proximity and needs to individually fly to each target. All Zenyatta needs is a teammate to poke their head out and he can start healing them.

I'm not sure I really understand the popular sentiment of D.Va just being a worse Winston.
Both need to be close range: D.Va needs to be close for maximum damage output and Winston needs to be close range to even hit anything to begin with. In said close range, D.Va can melt opponents while Winston tickles them to death.
D.Va's booster has a shorter cooldown than Winston's jump, it goes further, and you can steer it.
D.Va's defense matrix offers mobile defense that can completely shut down several ults, whereas Winston's barrier is stationary, has finite health, and I don't think I've ever seen it used particularly tactfully or at least in a way/place that didn't make it seem like a "sure why not" decision.
D.Va's ult may be insanely telegraphed and easy to escape, but it will immediately eliminate anyone unlucky enough to be caught in its blast. Its utility as an area denial tool is indisputable, it's great for clearing out turrets, and if you survive til the explosion you get a shiny new mech complete with full health. Winston's ult refills his health at the moment it's initiated and the laughable damage output makes him more of an annoyance than a real threat. If you managed to survive jumping into the enemy team and pushing them around here and there for a few seconds, your health is probably about as low as it had been when you popped your ult.
Can someone help explain why people prefer Winston over D.Va? I'm genuinely curious. I'm not bad with D.Va but every time I pick Winston I feel useless because he strikes me as being a worse D.Va, which is the exact opposite of what I usually see people saying. The only thing I can think of is that D.Va's reduced speed while firing is kind of a pain but honestly even that doesn't bother me much.

I think the fact that anyone can just stroll through it anyway on top of the fact that it can be destroyed with relative ease makes me question how worthwhile it is. Like, having an enemy Winston throw down a barrier never seems like something that's particularly difficult to work around through its duration.
To be useful at all only requires you to put it between who you want to protect and what you want to protect them from, and considering the size of the matrix that isn't a terribly difficult task. With unlimited blocking potential and a shorter cooldown, I'd dispute barrier being more reliable. It may not be as *easy* to use as Winston's set-it-and-forget-it barrier, but I think it has a more powerful defense potential.
