The game was released as a half-finished product.
The only way to get a good experience was to purchase the season pass at launch.
Day one players had to spend $100 if they wanted a fleshed-out game.
Both of the original DLCs were short as shit and the second of the original two didn't even have a raid.
The Taken King was exactly like the original DLCs except it added three new subclasses which was hardly enough to justify the $40 price tag, but Bungie fans lap that shit up.
They'll also likely lap up this next DLC thanks to the re-release of a weapon that was rendered useless in The Taken King.
TL;DR: Incomplete game at launch fixed only later through DLC. Day one players had to fork out $140 dollars just to play a complete game. DLCs are nothing but recycled areas, re-skinned enemies, and a few new abilities. New DLC is going to be exactly the same except for the return of a rocket launcher that has every Destiny player salivating.

I understand the pre-order only allows you to get the iron version if you do the mission but the mere fact that you get gjallarhorn from doing a mission in general whether it be gold or iron upsets me.
this was considered the games best weapon once upon a time. I like that they're bringing it back but with such an ease of availability i assume it can only be because it isn't the same weapon that packed such a powerful punch back at launch.
I'm expecting a massive nerf to the gun and if that's the case then why bother with bringing it back if it's just going to be a prop on the wall.
Additionally the stuff looks good but i would've preferred Cabal DLC considering they've done 2 hive, and a fallen one already. Cabal seemed the next logical step but being an Iron Lord seems like a good bow to put on Destiny 1.

Taken King added way more than the previous DLC did. It added a new subclass for each class, new weapons, new raid, new strikes and modifiers, a better implemented quest system, more vault space and bounty slots, more PvP maps and a new mode and more focus on story.
If you wanna shit on Destiny at least know what you're talking about. The Dreadnaught was a completely new area. You can argue Taken were reskinned versions of other enemies but they had different behaviors and abilities effectively making them new, but I'll give you this one.

It's fairly balanced now, but only because basically almost every exotic weapon aside from the Black Spindle(year 2 version of Black Hammer but without infinite ammo) and the only elemental primary which i forgot the name of, are the only exotics worth ever using instead of legendaries.
Also exotic armor is shit too, aside from one or 2 pieces, from the top of my head only the Hunter head which gives free shadestep(an instant evade) and a Titan chest which does the same, but only in the air, are the only ones worth using too.

While I agree that lfr has some drawbacks in most mmos as it harms the social aspect of a game. In this game it would only prove as a benefit since this game has no social aspect as it is. You either have a group of friends you play with, or you go to a separate website to group up, so why not just add matchmaking into the game?

Point is, even I can see that there's nothing wrong with what they're doing. Gjallarhorn fits the subject of the expansion so they made a quest where you reforge it from the armor of fallen Guardians. That's cool as fuck and fine by me. I'd rather more people enjoy the weapon and let it be a deciding factor in how people have fun in the game than only give it to the people who had it before because that minority doesn't want to feel devalued. In fact I feel pretty valued because I got my first Ghorn a few weeks before they announced the nerf, and barely got to enjoy it before TTK. Since they're bringing it back I finally get to use it again.

None of the expansions fix the fundmanetal issues present within the game. I'm done with Destiny until Destiny 2 comes out, and even then I'll only buy it if they go back to the Halo formula--that is, having an actual fucking story to go along with the gameplay.
They need to choose if they want to make an open-world exploration type of game or a corridor shooter type, because what they have now is just a bland mess of oversold promises where you have large open areas with nothing of any interest that only serve as inbetweens to your next area. There's absolutely no incentive or reward for exploring.

But any legendary armor in the TTK can be fully upgraded, at this point there are literally around 2 dozen armor sets for each class that could be used for endgame activities all up-gradable to max light.

Good joke anon. By all accounts, Destiny is a previous gen game, only ported to current gen, and now being given a bandaid expac in attempt to bring it up to par.
I started playing Destiny back when TDB came out. When I got my first jollyhorn I was so excited I did 4 strikes in a row and did nothing but kill myself with jollyhorn over and over again. Randoms would revive me and I would just jolly myself again. Never felt so good about getting loot in a game like I did when I got my first Ghally.

Both times I attempted this raid, something went wrong with the group. Someone had to go to bed, or someone had to leave, or some shit. I never did it.
I didn't find it to be fun, anyway. I liked going through Destiny's main story and Crucible is fun, but I really hate the MMO shit. I don't want to deal with this raid strat horseshit, just give me more actual space-shooter content.

if the first few expansions had been a part of the base game,then TTK comes out about nine months to a year later, then another giant update like what it seems this expansion will be destiny may have been worth a pricepoint above $60. Parting out everything, releasing a couple hours of new content every six months, then focusing manpower on microtransaction emotes instead of building multiplayer maps or events other than fucking Iron Banner was a mistake and I have to wonder where all their manpower goes.
Activision gave them a blank check and they did fuck all with it. VoG was pretty neat though. No complaints about that.
