You're not alone. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I'm used to waiting for things. In my experience, the longer I have to wait, the better the end result is (not just with games, but everything).
Besides, Valentine's Day fits with the theme, and it's after the busy holiday season, with all the big competition. Folks will be finished playing FFXV, SMT4A, and the plethora of other things that are releasing from both inside and outside of ATLUS in Autumn and Winter. We should want the game to be as successful as possible, and I think waiting a few more months is worth it.
I also have plenty of games to play in the meantime, so this means I feel less rushed in finishing them before P5 rolls around

As Atlus and Persona get more popular here in the west, it becomes less and less acceptable to do this. They must KNOW the entire fucking West is going to have Persona 5 spoiled. They clearly do not care. That's why people are upset.
