And they're not necessarily shitters; if you weren't there to experience Turn 9 when it was relevant, a lack of interest (and farm/clear parties that insist upon unsyncing it) will ensure you'll never experience T9 as intended.

To be fair, I get the sense that Nidhogg's "death" could have been done to get the point across to the player he died may not have been apparent to characters in universe, so I can kind of understand why Aymeric wanted them to get rid of the eyes asap.
The eyes probably have a considerable amount of aether stored within then, and while the WoL would probably be fine holding one of them, I imagine Off-and-On could have a bad reaction if he held onto it longer than he did.Plus Lahabrea, or his aether at least was absorbed into one of the eyes after Thordan killed him, so I can see that being a plot point for the story going into 4.0.

That's probably because you're way overgeared, you get welfare catchup gear in the 2.X MSQ which causes you to literally have twice the item level that the level 50 content is intended for
The level 60 dungeons are still easy, some of the raids and trials are still hard. There's just no point in doing level 50 content anymore.

I'm level 50 now and I don't have this welfare gear, I never actually had to grind for gear to beat anything so far.
When FFAR came out I remember the FIRST Ifrit trial and subsequently the titan, etc which used to just instantly KO anyone if someone didn't dodge in time. Hell, titan used to just blast you off entirely if you weren't exactly at the border of the arena. Now, I'm playing Titan on extreme and it still isn't as punishing as the training trial used to be.
I remember having to run dungeons multiple times in order to get gear to actually progress with. I literally solo'd to 50 as a WHM in total trash grey gear, which used to be an incredible pain in the ass.
They did something to make the instances too easy and especially making levelling too easy.

Ultimately I'd say dragoon is easier to play but it's also easier to fuck up.
Dragoons rotation will work in 90% of situations but a bad timed jump means you're gonna eat something due to animation lock. As someone with both DRG and MNK I prefer DRG.

It's a good thing. This game's mechanics/marks are inconsistent and unintuitive as fuck. It's no wonder looking up guides is practically required to do content, since the same marker can mean a dozen different things depending on the fight. You don't even know what you are and aren't supposed to stand in until either someone tells you or you test it yourself (and possibly die in the process).

it's always been about the challenge, caring about the loot roulette, particularly in this game where ilvl means very little if you are actually good at the game, is the biggest sign of a casual there is. In my static I make it a point to always grab shit only after everyone else that can use it on their main has it, because playing for the challenge is equivalent to playing for fun, while playing for loot is pretty much just playing to rush to the next encounter.

That said, it's about different things for different people. Sometimes, like you said, the challenge is its own reward. For others, the actual item reward is the motivation. And that's fine. Further still, someone might get the most out of needing a whole group to work together as one unit.

Only idiots don't know when they are causing wipes, observation is a major part of this game. I'm sure you know that, and I'm sure your point was to call me an idiot, but no. Healers are the carries in this game, nothing gets cleared if even one of them sucks, while a one or sometimes even two DPS can be terrible and one tank can be average and you can still clear anything the game has to offer. I've played for months on all three types and that is the conclusion I have come to, I just don't feel like I'm being best utilized on DPS or tank because they are not the carry of the group.

If that video was pre-server patch, then it was not him. They had a patch for certain raid environments specifically because of titan in 2.0, because even testers connected on the same network as the servers experienced latency with EX's 3 and 5 pillar. Post patch it was much better and there was no longer an excuse to be hit by them, but pre-patch clearing that shit was a nightmare.
