>play oblivion on PC
>full HD, max out every graphics setting
>eyes are glued to the monitor
> soapy low res textures and high framerate makes everything look uncanny valley tier fake

>play oblivion on ps3
>sit further from monitor
>lower display resolution actually masks the textures' bad quality
>lower framerate makes everything look more immersive and cinematic

(you) can't explain that
>>
The explanation is that you're a fucking idiot
PCs can connect to TVs anyway
>>
>play oblivion
>get it to look good in your eyes whether through mods or console acceptance as op posted
>realize that its the most boring terrible game in the elder scrolls series

>play something else

>the most boring terrible game in the elder scrolls series

OP said Oblivion not Morrowind though

why don't you just play in SD then if you're gonna be like that
>>
>>340607759
My laughter sounds nothing like crickets though.
>>
>>340607061
I don't have to. Because of the idiotic way Bethesda handles PS3 ports, your save'll corrupt itself sooner rather than later. On average you've got about 80 hours a save file.

No amount of immersion or cinema's gonna make up for that.

>>340607061
>You can't adjust resolution or framerate on a pc

/pol/ everybody, laugh at them.
>>
>>340607061
>immersive and cinematic
Oh shit son, this may start something.
>>
>>340608021
Oblivion was outsourced and actually beat the 360
>>
>>340608202
In performance sure. PS3 was always stronger.

But Beth games have a tendency to, after a certain amount of time, have the saves just choke and die on PS3. Oblivion had it, Fallout 3 had it, Skyrim had it.
>>
>>340608021
>you can lose your save at any time
>this adds a sense of dread and actually improves the overall experience
>>
>>340607061
The ps3 has the best filtering on distant textures.
>>
>>340608415
PS3 was indeed stronger but multiplats were almost always better on 360, partially due to it having 512mb shared ram that could be allocated as needed, whereas PS3 was 256mb ram, 256mb vram.
>>
>>340608415
Maybe save corruption is related to the way BSD OS'es handle file structure?
>>
>>340608513
M8 PC texture filtering shits over consoles
Even PS4/X1 rarely have more than 4x anisotropic, PCs can do 16x with no performance impact
