I never said I didnt play Assaults MP, i'm saying i've seen people say that they believe a dog fighting multiplayer would "save" the series, but really it wouldnt do anything.

SF64's MP was fun for its time but it was quickly overshadowed by Goldeneye. Assault really evolved the series into something bigger and grander, and it's a shame that it never got a proper sequel with online play.
