Difference is there's less crap loot. Less drops, but each one's more meaningful as a result. The problem is the loot table itself is completely fucked so any gun worth it's salt is completely fucking RNG to get.
There was also a total lack of shit to do in the open zones that launched with the game. They fixed that with the new zone in the last expansion, but it's still basically pointless to roam around any of the original areas.
There is the shell of a really fucking fun game in here but it's buried beneath a mountain of bullshit. The lack of content, the terrible PVP, the ridiculous loot system, no group finder, no real point to social spaces, no transmog- etc.
I'd wait to see how Destiny 2 shapes up since that's what Bungie is REALLY working on. Rise of Iron is just a stopgap.

I am two. I want to get into destiny. I probably will, since i have taken king and never got to really play much of the expansion (beat base at launch). But Destiny has absolutely stunning art direction and it would be so awesome with 60FPS and better AA options.

Exotics are still totally fucked with how many duplicates you can get- I have eleven fucking Alpha Lupi. PVP is just a juggling match of "who has the OP weapon this month". There is still a total lack of endgame content. There is a truly insane amount of grinding expected of the players. The actual story is still locked behind fucking trading cards on a separate fucking website outside of the goddamned game.
The core idea is good, the shooting is good, and the art direction is good. But it is not AWESOME. It does not inspire awe. It is at it's very best okay.

But the end game content is there, it's just spread out. There's 4 "end games" now (raid, prison, trials, and banner). So if you are looking for 1 biggest challenge to get#1 reward, it doesn't exist. I actually prefer that way. You can choose your own path to the top. If you hate grinding oryx hard mode, go do trials and banner. If you hate pvp(or are sick of getting killed by mida) go raid.

I can counter most snipers with a scout rifle and some strafing. There's still no counter for res-sniping except some tricky teammate sliding tricks.
Shotguns you can counter by keeping your distance, especially by using vertical movement. They're most likely to be ADS so they look around slower and you can get the jump on them.
Im feeling conflicted.
On one hand, I really enjoy the gameplay, the music, the raids, and sometimes the strikes. The new areas looks fantastic.
On the other, its probably going to be lackluster as fuck and finishable in less than a day.

It has great replay value though. The first time you beat a raid it's a fun shit show. After a while you get the strategy down. Then you can try different weapon combos/character class for different missions. By the time you get bored, the next dlc is out and the fun begins again. I've spent $150 about over 2 years. That's fucking cheap for that long of entertainment
