Headshot is determined by height on the capsule

After the hit is confirmed it snaps the projectile to the closest spot on the mesh to apply decals particles or props.

I disagree with this, because fuckhuge disjointed hitboxes always piss me off.

But it's absolutely balanced, since everyone deals with the same hitboxes.

I get so many more hitboxes with Hanzo now that I know how forgiving it is. Makes baddies rage so much when I headshot them before they (visibly) come out a door

But it's not balanced. Some people get huge bonuses for headshots while others get little to none.

Likewise, some heroes are balanced around requiring skill to aim. They do huge damage if they hit, but each missed shot is a huge drop in DPS for them compared to that guy who can fire 50x faster than you.

Yeah, and Widowmaker is broken because she doesn't need to aim to get headshots thanks to the huge as fuck hit boxes.

Junkrat gains no bonus from a huge head hitbox. Widowmaker gains the ability to spray and pray for 1 shot kills against an entire team thanks to it.

That's not balanced.

It's a good thing it takes less than 0.5 seconds to charge a shot enough that it will 1 shot kill anyone except tanks with a headshot.

That's not a good thing, she's the only team that when played perfectly can shut down the entire enemy team herself.
Luckily Widows that good are rare, and they still die almost instantly to any ambush character. I haven't found a widow that can handle a Winston jumping in on her. I even destroy Widows with Pharah as long as I can close the distance on them without being seen and picked off. 2 direct rocket impacts = instant death, they usually don't even have time to unscope and look around before they die.

She's on Blizzard's radar, but I don't think she needs anything but a body shot damage nerf.

I was being sarcastic. Huge hitboxes benefit Widowmaker much more than they benefit someone like Junkrat, so you cannot say it's balanced because it effects everyone equally.

There's to reason to get upset. Overwatch is simply an "Aiming optional" shooter. There's nothing wrong with that. If you want an "Aiming focused" shooter you can just play UT or something.

This is my biggest problem with the game.
I am an ESL MLG Pro competitive shooter, I'm used to my godlike skills carrying my team to victory. I can't carry for shit in this game, it's all about placement and teamwork and shit.

It's because Quake has a bunch of player models that aren't necessarily the same shape. Traditional hitboxes wouldn't work for this guy.

If it was the arrows hit box, it would hit the wall, but it doesn't and manages to hit Widowmaker anyway.

I seriously doubt the game has different sized hit boxes for enemy players based on your character of choice. If it did it would potentially have to keep track of 36 different hitboxes per team. Which isn't likely.
