Definitely. It was my first Vita game. Might start off a bit slow, but picks up pretty quick after tutorial plot.

I've never played Ragnorak. Tales of Hearts I own but haven't played yet. One of my friends that's a big Tales of fan says it's pretty good.

Both are incredibly boring. Persona 4 Golden is incredible, and one of the few games the VITA actually has to offer in 2016.
When Freedom Wars was "free" due to PS Plus, the truth finally came out. People were pissed at how the game drags on. It was glorious for those of us that were mislead into buying it.

Trails of Cold Steel
Its got a persona vibe, but its more plot focused and doesn't spend as much time on the social links.
Disgaea and Atelier series are also good bets.

Freedom Wars is a flawed game, but it has some good ideas and the combat is fun; it also has the best waifu builder.
Soul Sacrifice Delta is the best Vita hunting game overall, but it also has its flaws. It has better writing and the combat system allows for some interesting combos, but there is a lot of empty padding in the the game and only a couple waifus (not customizable).

Odin sphere just came out, I highly recommend it if you haven't already bought it for PS4. Persona 4 Golden is also great though I recommend playing Persona 3 Portable which is downloadable on the Vita. I hear the Danganronpa games are fun, I've only played the first one and had a blast.

Currently playing VLR and holy shit. I'm about two thirds of the way through (I think) and it's amazing. The only complaint I have with the game is how many fucking door animations and dots moving around a map you have to watch. Apart from that, amazing game.
