The worst healers in the game now are WHM. Same healing as the other two, no shields, no special buffs or utilities. I can't tell you how many times I've wiped to Nidhogg cause of having 2 WHM healers. You really feel it when you don't have at least 1 of the other 2 healers.

Its definetely not the same pure healing power as whm but it has certain useful gimmicks white mage does not have such as synastry, disable and 29s mp refresh. If you want a safe main healer though, white mage is still the way to go.
The card buffs are more like placebos and really pointless in the way giving resources. I'd say the only cards that are actually useful within the rng are spear (on yourself) and ewer (also on yourself).
Having to deal with the drawing cards all the time just so you dont feel like a gimped healer actually distracts you a lot from doing actual healing or useful shit. Selene is also a better dps buff thhan them thanks to being consistent.

Haurchefant was the best. He was a goofy pal that could still get shit done, and unlike a lot of other Ishgardian Elezen he treats you with respect and kindness as soon as you meet him. Not only that, but even when you are a wanted "criminal" he decides he's gonna help you immediately, even before hearing details. He was just a really cool guy and character.

I just love how people keep saying AST has the best utility when their utility cards are RNG and mostly a detriment in a real fight (spear messes with rotations and the resource cards are just resource cards and burned all the time, you will never have bole when you actually need it).
AST's ACTUAL utility is just disable which is 1 more utility than what WHM has and 127484743 less than what SCH has.

They need to do that pilgrimage sidequest more often. It made Heavensward feel that much more important. retracing your steps and catching up with everyone who helped you along the way made it feel like you actually accomplished something for once. That gut punch with the bouquet of flowers for Ysayle and the lonely campfire were tremendous moments. Should have been mandatory.

Please tell me how the buff is useful for anything other than achieving the same result the other two healers are already getting at? I use synastry 100% of the time to buff my regens and basically never to buff my cures, because I don't frigging need it for anything else.

End game is the true suffering. Everything from 1-60 is a blast. I don't think that's true anymore. Remember they added the Newbie EXP ring and made it so maps auto-fill whilst giving you the full XP bonus.
Even without those, I managed to make it from 1-54 in a week and a half, doing nothing but MSQ up to the end of 2.55, Hunting Log, Job Quests and a bit of the DF when it unlocked. Only had to grind for a single level on the journey to 50. Imagine it's even easier now.
