There's a lot of dumb shit in manga, but it's more entertaining. Like, I can read every bit of Jojo and love it regardless of how stupidly OP some of the stands get, but American superhero comics are dumb AND repetitive. I'm sick of how often they kill off and revive the same characters and I'm sick of the cross-series world ending events every other month. Cancelled multiple subscriptions because of that shit during Blackest Night and it's only gotten worse since then.
I really should've specified superhero comics though because there are some American comics that I really love.

I don't really think they're comparable in terms of repetitive bullshit. There are definitely manga out there that are even worse in terms of dumb bullshit than anything DC or Marvel can shit out, but they're at least self contained. If you ever get into one of DC or Marvel's superhero comics then you can bet it'll be fucked up by a retarded cross series event in less than a year, and if not, then it's rebooted or cancelled. Sometimes all three.

But American comics, especially from the big two are infuriating because character and story arcs end up getting ignored or retconned out of existence, any interesting development or changes to the status quo are only temporary or even worse, made entirely for the sake of sales.
Spider-Man hasn't had a good comic in years. At this point, he's had more shit comics than good. If it weren't for his other media representation and solid stories from decades ago, he'd be one of Marvel's worst characters.

Not that guy, but the game definitely feels like it was rushed to have a big exclusive for PS4 early on. Clear focus on quantity over quality for the powers, they all basically feel the same despite being totally different "elements". Also shit character development. Evil Delsin sort of just comes out of nowhere and his final cutscene doesn't jive with his character unlike the evil routes from the previous games. Supporting characters are introduced and mostly thrown away after you've learned their skills. Most of the missions and other content are very repetitive even compared to the first Infamous (which was "infamous" for being repetitive), and especially compared to 2.
