Hey, Doomguy recognizes that VEGA was instrumental in getting him where he needed to be.
Also, whether or not VEGA's self-destruct was Hayden's order, or by its own recognition that it was the only way to stop the invasion, it was a very real sacrifice.
It was a nice touch of Doomguy to do VEGA a good turn, considering the circumstances.
