This is legitimately my favorite game of all time. Is it perfect? Absolutely not; the AI can go from being incredibly smart to fucking retarded, the story's riddled with zombie cliches, the pacing is off sometimes, only one choke animation, and so on.
But I fucking love it, /v/. The heart-pounding, cat-and-mouse gameplay. The tense realtime resource management. The frantic improvisation when shit inevitably hits the fan. The absolutely God-tier soundtrack. The best sound design in a game since Resident Evil 3--maybe even better. The way enemies notice their friends are missing if you stealth kill them. The way they call out your specific location when they spot you ("He's behind the counter!, etc."). The beautiful, vibrant art design despite it being a post-apocalyptic game. The fucking brutal melee combat. The best voice acting in a game ever. The impressive chiasmic story structure. The nuanced, complex character development on par with any novel or film, not even joking. The well-done, subtle symbolism present throughout. The parallels. The giraffe scene. The entire Winter chapter. The innovative, stealth-based multiplayer where people actually work together. The subversive, powerful ambiguous ending. The grey morality of Joel's choice that still has people debating and calling each other faggots to this day.

It's a pretty dank game, I still really like it after numerous replays and who knows how many fucking hours into the multiplayer.
TLOU's multi is the best kept secret of last gen. The PC fats and Xbots who talk constant shit don't even know that it exists, and it's probably the best time I've had in an online game in a decade. Too bad they really fucked it up with DLC.

I wouldn't say she died like it was nothing. Joel only brings it up once with Ellie after that but he was still clearly very affected by it. He's shown to be the type of guy to bury and ignore his grief rather than confront it--you see this later when he refuses to take a picture of him and Sarah and just leaves it behind, and when he forbids discussion of Henry and Sam instead of talking it through.
Besides, Tess' death was the motivating factor for Joel to keep lugging Ellie along, at least initially until she grew on him. I do agree that the whole setup was cliched as hell though. The whole "character gets bitten but only reveals it later at a climactic moment" thing needs to fucking stop.

This is a game where you have to play on the Grounded or Hard difficulties.This game is shit on anything else.
It's a good game and weirdly enough one of the best survival games out. AI is weird sometimes but everything else is really well done.
The infected are a good twist on Zombies and the sound design is 10/10.

To contribute something to a bait thread and since we're talking about something different than Overwatch and Witcher: TLoU is a good game, mechanics are solid, art direction is solid, plot is alright for zombie stuff. The big problem is that it isn't an exceptional game it's a game that doesn't fuck up in any department but doesn't doesn't outstand in anything either. If faggot reviewers hadn't hyped it so much /v/ would like it more.

Honestly it has moments of brillance sometimes, niggas try to flank you, get behind, ambush you on their own, play more or less agressively depending of how things are going. What kills it is friendly AI that is complete garbage.

Yes. Ellie's saved my ass more times than I can count, as have Tess and Bill, I've had hunters unscriptedly hide in doorways and wait until I pass through them to catch me from behind and break my neck, I've had hunters distract me with suppressing fire so that their friends can flank around me, I've had hunters run away and hide when I've killed a lot of their friends, I've had hunters ignore my thrown distractions because they know it's a trap, I've had hunters counter my punches and break my neck against a car hood, etc. Then I've also had hunters run up to me in a suicide charge with a bat when I've got a loaded shotgun. That's fucking stupid, but when you consider the amount of times you yourself have resorted to doing just that when you're out of ammo and desperate, it doesn't seem so bad. The fact that they don't hear someone getting choked a foot away from them is dumb as hell, though.

They should have coded it better. Make sure that enemies and friendly AI never bumps into each other, that it doesn't get into their eyesight. Make them teleport whatever, what we got was immersion breaking.
Finished the DLC on survivor difficulty today, 't was pretty neat. The AI was really good, I don't think the haters played on the higher difficulties.
