Hey guys, I just unlocked guild rank 3 quests in MH4U. What are some good armor sets to use for Charge Blade? I can't seem to find a good combo of guard, sharpness, and or evasion

It's not easy to obtain something like Razor Sharp or Sharpness +1 at earlier stages of the game. I suggest getting armor with Attack Up skills as the attack boost is additive and thus has best effect early in the game.
Guard +1 (10) allows you to guardpoint most attacks with little knockbackplease charge the shield, Guard +2 (15) is mostly used for Tigrex and Teostra, and is otherwise overkill on most other monsters. If you can't gem it in and/or lack an appropriate talisman to help, try the Barroth Armor. You can trade Gypceros parts for Barroth ones at the Wycoon after completing 'Nerscylla Thrilla' in Caravan 4. The armor provides Attack Up S and Guard +1 off the bat for -10 Hunger (which you can gem out easy), with only two away from Defense Up S but its gems work against the Attack skill.
Otherwise most Blademaster weapons can settle for Velociprey, Kut-Ku, Rathalos, or Tigrex armor for attack up in the meantime.

And I forgot to add; there's a skill tree called Guard Up which allows you to block normally unblockable attacks. The only thing you'll want this is when you're fighting Gravios if you're using Lance or CB, countering his gas attacks and allowing you to continue wrecking his feet and abdominal region.

Remember that some things like fuckhuge lasers from monsters will give you a ton of knockback. There are some projectiles you can block without Guard Up though like Tigerstripe Zamtrios' water blast when he deflates, as well as Tigrex and Deviljho rocks.

Yeah I'm vibing with Charge Blade now.
Keeping my trust shield charged, and I've figured out how to get it so you have full vials, all red, in like 3 inputs you get full charge shield and all 5 vials and you're in a position to set up pretty much anything.
Just trying to get guard points down, helps now that I realized I had +9 not +10 guard, so I wasn't getting anything from Guard+1

At G3 you should be able to get a mixed HB+RS set with Rajang parts.

Most importantly, don't forget that Guard Points give you extra stability, in or out of the boosted shield mode.
Even with Guard+2 and shield boost you still need to GP Tigrex roar to not get pushed back. Simply blocking won't do the trick.
