What is the minimum refresh rate I should look for when looking for a monitor? I plan on doing some gaming in 1440p. I'm new at this, any help is appreciated.

Refresh rate, just like tickrate, hitbox issues etc are mostly a meme, they only start being really important at high level play and people who whine about them are usually shitters trying to rationalize being bad. Unless you are already pretty good at a game don't believe that a 144hz will make any difference, it won't.

This is 100% correct, I fucking hate seeing retards whining about how 144hz+ is a meme because you can't reach that in demanding games with current GPU's. For one, it's stupid because some games are optimized way better and at higher resolutions you can afford to turn down settings to achieve a higher framerate, not to mention older games. Secondly, once you hit even 75fps you can see an noticeable improvement over 60fps and if your monitor caps out at 60hz you'll never see this. There is no reason for someone playing on PC in THE CURRENT YEAR to have a 60hz refresh rate monitor unless they're very poor.
