Plus before I respecced I was lucky to have 100 item discovery. Didn't get a single item in 4 hours. Went to 99 luck and started boosting with everything I had and started getting 2 every 15 minutes. I was summoned as a Darkmoon the other day, and the invader was duking it out with the host at the area before the gate at the Undead Settlement.
Invader points to me, stops fighting the host. Obviously wants a duel.
Host won't stop attacking invader.
No way for either of us to tell the host to stop, because we don't have "no way" gesture.
I dropped "I'm sorry" and the invader dropped "thank you" and I just ran off the cliff.

DaS2 backsteps were seriously too fucking good. I want to think DaS1 had a couple of frames of invincibility on its backsteps (I can recall a couple of times were I felt I should've got hit but that might've been faulty netcode) but they were mostly good because they covered a fair distance, allowing you to simply position yourself out of reach.
There you fucking go, a balanced fucking move, DaS3 backsteps are fucking meager in comparison. DaS2's too but they had I-frames to make them usable. Instead of fixing something DaS2 did right but wasn't balanced they just scrapped it altogether without thinking about the consequences.

Invasions are supposed to be a ''oh fuck'' moment for hosts. Not some sport.
I remember by first invasion that happened to me in DS1, it was the old londo area, after getting fucked by the ghosts i was trying desperately to find a bonfire, getting lost and shit and some guy invaded me with the darkwraith gear and gave me quite the experience. I didn't even know he was a real player until later on.

Most of the time it is easy to parry the third hit. But one in every 10 spammers I can't seem to parry it even though I know I timed it right. I'm under the impression that maybe laggy fuckers also get free r1 spam, or maybe it is a super subtle hack they're using (I play PC)
