The dice rolls can be bullshit which is why they give you multiple roll objectives each turn so you typically can find something to use each roll for.
And the cannibalism aspect I think is pretty cool.

This is why I can't get into them. I like some randomness to keep it fresh but when you make every correct decision and you still lose because the game just decided to fuck you over makes it unappealing.
