His Yun in USFIV was pretty good, in UMvC3 he's one of the stronger players having actually played alot against overseas players, and in Xrd he's still a beginner but at least not clueless unlike the vast majority of the FGC are when they start playing it.
If your requirement for "playing other fighting games" is getting top 8 at multiple games, then many top players in SF, GG, and other stuff wouldn't qualify for that.

I get what you mean when you say that those concepts apply to any game to some extend, the core difference is a shooter is designed around being able to put your crosshair on the other guy's head as fast as possible, melee is designed around dashing and hopping about the stage like a spastic, 2d fighting games with their limited screen space and movement options are built from the ground up for the strategic decision making that only happen as a side attraction in those other games. It's also why nobody takes the anime shit seriously btw, they stray too far from what makes fighting games great.
