Yes. Extremely easy if you don't care to abuse a glitch.
Do the Cursed Quest once you get it, but once the text says "Obtained [Item]", press Start instead of A. Due to a hilariously obvious oversight you still get the item but the Quest Flag isn't set to Clear, so you can repeat the process to acquire up to 9 of any item from quests for profit.

Let's just take a moment here to think about how well it would have done on PC.
The population would be huge because the content would be ENDLESS. They could release a game creator that lets you make custom levels and characters. Then you could download custom tile sets so you weren't stuck with what Konami gives you.
All the custom content could be played on a seperate "custom save". If a certain custom map or character got popular enough Konami could release it for "official" use. They would set all the item drops for the "official" version but players could set the drops for whatever in the "custom" version. That way you could do a map that guarantees a Valmanway and try it out but you'd actually have to grind for it on the real game.
