I just played it last October knowing the third was announced, and after playing 999 in the summer. I can't imagine how grueling it must have been to have played VLR back in '12, this month alone is unbearable enough.
so without spoiling too much, what is the most efficient way to play through VLR route wise?
Any other media that's like ZE and Infinity on the mindfuck scales? I got Steins;Gate a while back.

there really isn't one
nearly every route has at least a lock or two on it, just take whatever door and jump around the flow chart as necessary. unlike 999, the flow chart lets you get straight back to the decision points rather than having to redo puzzles and fast forward the text (well, you'll have to fast forward some parts a little)

Play on Easy Modo. Get the blue safe password, then replay the escape room on Hard mode. You don't actually have to solve the puzzles the second time.

Well I said to repeat the puzzle on Hard but go straight to the safe since you don't have to play it all over again. On Easy Mode, you get more dialogue for some reason. Some of them not having anything to do with the puzzle.
