Basicly it's enhanced Shadow of Chernobyl with tons of new content, locations, vehicles, quests, weapons etc.

Can't say much about quests since I've just goten to the bar, so far there were pretty standard "find stuff", "kill this guy", "get this weapon repaired" etc.
Rewards were pretty nice though.

Cars really helpful when you do backtracking or carrying mountains of loot in the trunk. Car is necessary in darkscape because it was intended to be played with car.
With strict weight limit of 60 they're lifesavers when you need to get from A to B without spending half an hour
