only thing I would disagree with is ORAS being higher than XY. While I understand that a lot of people hated things in XY (myself included) I think that ORAS did a HORRIBLE fucking job in the remake department by not only not remaking emeerald like HGSS did crystal, but also in making the games easier than they were before. I don't think I have ever had that little fun playing through a pokemon game as with ORAS.

Will HG/SS ever be topped? Gamefreak went balls out with those. This is what happens when you put effort it Pokemon games. Every time a new remake comes out the popular opinion for best gen moves on to the next one.
When leaf green and fire red came out gen 3 was trash and they were running out of ideas, when HGSS came out gen 4 was slow and over designed and when ORAS came out gen 6 had not postgame and unbalanced pvp or something.
I don't think it's that people's opinions change or that it's children growing up and joining the argument, i think it's just people grow tired of talking praise quicker than they grow tired of talking shit so the older gens have had their turn in the limelight and are past their peak praise and the newer gens then get their turn in order.

I will agree that sinnoh has some good route music, but it's not even close to being the best
the best part about sinnoh's ost are the unique battle themes, which are unfortunately only a few instances in the games
the town themes and a lot of the route themes are extremely bland
