They tried to take a bit out of the moba market, which is already a dying fad. It's still a strong and popular market, but it's declining.
Also, they tried to compete with Overwatch for "fun and cool characters do battle" shit.
They should be focusing on unreal tournament 4 which has waaaayyy more potential. The shooter market is still vulnerable, considering the only big shooter game right now is CSGO and Overwatch. An oldschool arena shooter with photorealistic graphics will grab people I think

Not really considering they have multiple teams and any improvements that go into Paragon feed straight back into UE.
It genuinely looks like the most boring game I've ever seen, and I don't mean that as hyperbole. I've watched 5 or 6 gameplay videos so far, some of them an hour or more long, and not one moment of it looked fun.
It's like someone slowed a really bland 3rd person shooter down by 300%, and then tried to incorporate all the worst elements of a MOBA into it; it has none of the fun bits from either genre.
Oddly, that's okay sometimes. A lot of games are boring. But on top of that, the artstyle, animation, and character design are so beyond generic that it defies comprehension. When I look at this game I see nothing - it's like looking at a blank screen.
There's nothing even to complain about because there's nothing there.
