I'm stupid and don't know about his shit but I assumed things weren't being added into electronics like memory cards or hard drives

I thought that things inside get rearranged so that it "makes" the information

With flash memory, having some electrons at higher energy states technically adds a tiny amount of mass due to special relativity.

With disk drives, it's reorganized patterns of magnetic filament so I don't think it applies.
