please try playing it right now without using speedrunning tricks and tell me the game is remotely enjoyable.
The AI is terrible, there's almost no enemy variety, the weapons other than the Gravity Gun all sound like wet farts and have the impact of a squirt gun, the vehicle segments are shit, level design mostly consists of a straight line from A to B, they CONSTANTLY lock you in a room for 5 minutes at a time and have people talk to you while you're trapped, and the game stops dead in its tracks to show off physics every few minutes.
even when it was released the game was only impressive for its graphics. at least with a game like Ocarina you can legitimately say it innovated and contributed overall to game design as a whole. What the fuck did Half-Life 2 do?
