The most notable 4U monster you'll miss out on apart from a few large elder dragons is Nerscylla who is actually kinda fun. Simple. Sony's head was in the cloud. They believed they were invincible, and they really didn't like sharing games with competitors, thus the creation of the CELL. This would've worked in their favor if the PS3 was the lead platform, and would provide a huge headache for people to port games to other platforms. However, this bit them in the ass, especially with the 360 beating them by a year and being substantially easier to dev for despite being roughly equal in specs.
If Nintendo made one last GameCube and marketed the hell out of it, there's a good chance that FF13 would've been a 360 and Nintendo title. Literally the only reason the PS3 pulled through was because they still had Japan on their side, and Mattrick decided to ruin what the 360 achieved.
