Why isn't the Atelier series on PC yet? Niche japanese games are doing really well on steam nowadays, is there a reason to not release them? I don't think sony has bribed TK on that one either.

I don't think they made the current engine with PC in mind is all. It would probably be a nightmare to port.
I suspect the next gen atelier games will be made with that in mind.
Then again i could be mistaken, but it makes no sense for Gust not to release on steam at this point.
Gust was bought out by a traditional publisher instead of expanding their business to the west like IFI or Xseed. It allowed them to continue the outdated 80-2000s approach of console exclusivity. Their 3DS Rorona disaster is also going to leave a bad taste in their mouth for ports to any console.
