Will a controller ever come close to the precision of keyboard+mouse?

Will a controller ever come close to the precision of keyboard+mouse?

Wii U.

Depends on the game. Some games suck with keyboard and mouse
>>
>>339924440
Really?

Shooter games, forgot to mention. Obviously fighting games aren't better with kb+m
>>

No. It really can't. Controllers are good for many things, but you can't zip around quickly for fast movement and precision aiming with a joystick like you can with a mouse.

Built in trackball may help, but its harder to master. Touchpad has some possibility, but loses the precision. Touchscreen WiiU style can get the precision but is going to lose the speed of turning.

One controller can't do it all. Hell for that matter I don't think you can have a controller good at 2D and 3D games at the same time because it has to cram too many controls in one space.

I still think the wiimote-nunchuck setup has a lot of potential for this. Playing the metroid prime trilogy made it feel pretty close

Honestly yes. The motion control works really well for finer precise movements,

Touchpad is useful too. Works fine is as a keyboard in a pinch.

I really enjoy playing those two shooters on it

He's right, the gyro controls are great.

Steam controller is as close as you'll get.
>>

I-I play them with keyboard
>>

There are tons of instances where dual analog is more precise than KB/M though.
>>
>>339924328

360 controller is more precise.

>>339924328
It's called using the sticks in conjunction with the gyro controls, yes.

It's a shame this thing was DOA. Fucking fantastic controller for everything.

IT'S TRUE
>>
>>339924328
It's more precise than a controller obviously, but console shooters are objectively more comfy.

>objectively

Think the word you're looking for is subjectively.

A control stick is actually better for movement. Its just not better for aiming and looking around.
