False, it's a partial crack that crashes when loading.

Still, it's a step in the right direction and it's only a matter of time until it gets cracked completely. I imagine by the time DE launches, it and all Denuvo games before it will be cracked before Denuvo 4.0 or someshit resets all progress.

What's wrong with Denuvo from a consumer standpoint? Ignoring the fact that you can't test the game, which would be the fault of devs for not making a demo in that case, in what ways does Denuvo cause trouble for the consumer? Does it slow the game down by demanding resources or something?
>>
>>339867120

I told you guys it was gonna be cracked as soon as a game worth cracking came out.
>>
>>339875297
How does DRM help the consumer at all? Even with a negligible footprint it still takes up resources that could be used elsewhere.

>>339875562
You mean space? It's more than likely not more than a few megabytes due to how it works. It's not in the way of the consumer at all as far as I can see, so what harm does it do?

It seems to be that the only reason people are salty as fuck about Denuvo is because it prevents them from pirating the game, nothing else.
>>
Why are people saying that D44M is cracked? Read the thread, you can't play the game. I'm all for some cracking, but this is just silly.

>>339875297
Denuvo prevents tampering with the files, which means no mods, a big deal for the PC. It also allocates more cpu and resources from your computer just to run it because it has to constantly check out if nothing fishy is happening with the gamefiles.
Developers use denuvo because it helps sales for when people are uncertain about a game and decide to buy it because of hype or impatience.
Honestly if people pirated a game and actually bought it if they liked it (something every crack team suggests in everytime in every cracked game) denuvo wouldn't even exist, but that's not the case.
>>
>>339872697
lol
>>
>>339876006
>>339876476

>>
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/271289/Can_hard_to_crack_Denuvo_win_the_catandmouse_game_of_PC_piracy.php
>Thomas Goebl, a director at Denuvo, is, surprisingly perhaps, more muted in his appraisal. “Although there is news that we might prevent piracy completely going forward, we have a more realistic view: our focus is to help publishers to secure the initial sales windows of their games. Our goal is to delay the initial crack as it’s during this timeframe that many people choose to buy the game rather than pirate it.”

>Despite the strides that Denuvo has made in shoring up PC games in recent years, Goebl doesn’t believe there has been any significant decline in attempts to crack commercial games. “Every game besides pure multiplayer titles is pirated,” he says. “This was the case 10 years ago and it still the case today.”
>As such, the ceaseless tussle between publishers and pirates continues, with each trying to outsmart the other and stay ahead. “This is why we only ever refer to our Anti-Tamper solution as being ‘hard to crack’, never ‘uncrackable’. We constantly apply proactive security updates to our solution to keep one step ahead. But it is, ultimately, a game of cat-and-mouse.”

I respect them in a weird sort of way.

This still won't give us proper modding.
Even if Denuvo gets cracked making the game somewhat moddable, it will never catch on because of it.
It's good that it's getting broken and hopefully the crack will be fully working withing a few weeks and start the end for Denuvo, but a lot of damage has been done already.

There's no modding because the game doesn't support it natively by design. There's only been a handful of projects since the beginning of nidding where modders were able to create a separate client specifically so they could mod the game, SAMP and Just Cause multiplayer are 2 of them. I doubt that anyone would even bother with Doom, if there are no modding tools or easily moddable filea to begin with

>the beginning of nidding
What?
>create a separate client specifically so they could mod the game
Who's talking about creating a separate client here. Modding can also be about tinkering with the game content in various ways. You think that the xxSE suite of programs for Bethesda games exist because the games allowed it by design? Those were built by working directly on the game's executable and injecting code in it. If those games were protected by proper DRM (rather than just Steamworks which is essentially just a wrapper, easily bypassed) the script extenders couldn't work.
An unsanctioned script extender couldn't work on a Denuvo game. Hell, you mention the JC2MP mod: the JC3MP dev team had to have been given a special build of the game because Denuvo was getting in their way with development.

I'm deflecting to GOG because it is advertised as a DRM-free platform, yet the TOS/EULA for the games they sell are the exact same as the Steam versions of those same games.

Steam itself isn't DRM.

Hey, it's pretty cool that even the poor kids get to play one of the best games this year.

No, the publisher owns their respective games, steam/valve doesn't own anyone elses that isn't their own like CSGO

Honestly, though, Doom is the best shooter in at least a decade. I bought it because I want to show Bethesda and everyone who worked on it that this is what I want in a game.

If you you pirate this game, you have no right to complain about games being shit.

I don't care what dumb quote you referenced, a EULA is not a DRM

Steam is a DRM, a eula from a publisher is not

So, if denuvo is uncrackable, why are there multiple versions? Just for the fuck of it? If the patches were to fix exploits that cracked it, why would you expect us to believe THIS version will never ever suffer the fates of the others?

You can't play those that use Steamwork's DRM solution, fucking retard. The Steam games that are DRM-free can be played without the client open.

Not him, but I think any modification that circumvents copy protection should be able to be called a crack. They're just lower on the quality scale. For instance most steam cracks these days are just a steam emulator dll replacing the real steamapi.dll and don't touch the game executable, are those cracks?

So how does Denuvo actually work? Is it true it generates different machine code depending on the model of your processor?

generates a random encryption key to stop you from tampering with the internal files

the original theory was that this wicked constant encryption ruined SSD's because of constant rewrites

I think he's talking more about the ones who use steamworks or are tied to steam itself, total war games are an example. You can technically launch the later games but you can't play them.

Who else /having standards/ in here? I mean yeah its good that garbage DRM gets cracked and all but, lets be serious this is just another game in a long line that denuvo is protecting that isn't worth it in the first place. Those assholes that said only shit games have Denuvo were right. It's for companies that want blind sales for shit games so people cant find out on their own if its shit or not without having to shell out money for the abomination.

Total War Warhammer is the best TW game imo, and can only get better with expansions.

The bar may have been lowered but that doesn't mean we ever dropped our standards. Doom4 is far below that.

Go back to your corporate masters and tell them I said this.

So long as you try and pass off substandard filth as a game/series that has a legacy, we will continue to shit on it. What you did was ignore the lessons of the past, ignore all the guidelines and standards the previous games set, shit on them, set them on fire, then release it to the public then . Then tells the original game to go fuck itself. Then you had the nerve to piss and moan when people dont accept it when it does nothing for the series, but infact does the opposite. It regresses it for the limitations of the new gen audiences.

Is Doom 4 fast? Yes. Does it have Doom demons? Yes. That's all it manages to fucking accomplish. It's like they never studied the source material at all, sat with Doom demon figurines on their desk with an autistic grin on their face like a retard in a art gallery trying to figure out "HURR WUT IS DEWM",

Then their bosses came in and they got told to make it look futuristic, and try to appeal to the COD/Halo kids but "DONT MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOU'RE DOING THAT CUZ DEY WILL COMPLAIN~!!!" and just slapped a buncha locked rooms together with weak shit feeling weapons. Dont forget ya gotta limit it for SHITTY FUCKING HARDWARE CONSOLES THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN THE MAIN DEVELOPMENTAL FOCUS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

DOOM IS A PC SERIES, NOT CONSOLE WIGGER SHIT. WHEN WILL CORPORATIONS LEARN TO STOP CATERING TO THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR.

Oh no though, lets slap a intrusive DRM that overworks your harddrive into it to protect it so >>339881539 the end of this post doesn't happen. Gotta get them blind sales.

Best AI yet, they actually flank, try to outflank, counter-charge, play off highground/terrain, and respond to your attacks.

Every faction is finally unique, in both models, units and playstyle.

New units like mages, giants, tanks, flying, heroes, along with upgrading your Lord with gear, spells, and stats is addicting and really shakes up the game from over 10 years of stagnation.

They also removed a lot of the campaign bloat like food and sanitation, which pisses off a lot of autist who scream CASUALIZATION while they completely disregard the fact that it was NEVER hard, just tedious, boring, and adding nothing to the core gameplay but an extra layer of tedium nobody wanted.

It's also really funny when you find a lot of the Steam '''''reviews''''' that start off by saying how dumbed down and easy the game is, and then go right into talking about how hard it is because they can't get past 30 turns.

not going to read your shitposting wall, but DOOM is a really fun game.
