You still have immortal NPCs in oblivion, and it's not 100% snow but it is 80-90% grass.
Gameplay is definitely a fuckload more balanced than skyrim or morrowind, but it's still broken in some ways, most notably leveling as a whole.
Story is dogshit, but it has the best quests by a wide margin.
