When you buy equipment from the shop in any version of Disgaea, the equipment will say it says like 40 gladiators, dieticians, coaches, etc that each represent a stat in the game. You go into their item world and subdue these specialists and as you subdue them, you can combine them and transfer them. There is a max level that a specialist can be, but normally you have to be an autistic fuck to spend the hours and hours it takes to combine 40 gladiators into the several thousand max that it was.
In the PSP version of Disgaea 1. It was bugged so that you could buy equipment that already had super high level Coach specialists, so subduing them and combining them to the max level was easy.

She did become much more forceful after being in the netherworld. In the first game she starts sort of polite and while she pushes her beliefs on others, she doesn't really go that far.
By Disgaea 4 she's willing to ban people from Celestia for talking shit about her and even says to one of the Prinnies that being bullied counts as a form of love.
Also, even as an angel she stuck out like a sore thumb.She's still best girl though. I actually like her more in recent games.

Pay attention to the whole field. Geo Panels/Symbols do play a role during the story, and there's usually at least one map where you WILL lose if you don't pay attention to them.
Upgrade equipment. In Disgaea games, most of your stats will come from equipment. If you buy things at shops you'll increase customer rank, which lets you propose bills to get better, more expensive equipment in shops.
Remember that you can do a diagonal throw, unless you're playing in the DS version. To do it, select throw and then the distance, then switch to an adjacent direction. In the brief moment while the character is turning, if you time your throw correctly you'll do a diagonal throw.

Eh, I'm satisfied with a Disgaea game if I got into the end game grind. Don't really care whether I completed it or not. As long as I know what needed to be done and was on the path to do it, I'm happy.
