Honestly, this seems like a pretty good idea. I'm never going to pay full price for a fucking MP game again, and I picked up Siege on the cheap for 30 bucks at launch because they were bundling keys with gfx cards.
I'd be far more willing to spend 10-20 bucks to buy into a version of the game where unlocks take a little longer, over spending 60 bucks new, or even worse, playing F2P shit with 12 year olds. It's literally the best of both worlds, paywall to keep the shitters out, cheap to increase the number of people playing.

It's not very good. It's a fun little class based shooter that's insanely easy with a skill ceiling on par with CoD. Vegas 2 is fucked on pc and on consoles. There is a bug that makes the sound loop (only SFX clips) in the co-op, and it can happen on single player too (console it happens less but is 30 fps).
Also, there is a bug about the player movment on stairs and ramps, you go full sonic when climbing some stairs (console and pc)
Also, on pc you cant get real 16:9 and 16:10, and the fov is fucked. the only way to get over this is whit custom resolutions and black borders. And you wont get real 90 fov.

Would've been better if they added a free2play version that tied in with the regular version but made all the operators/weapons either pay to unlock where you pay more than people who bought the game or extremely difficult to grind out. Here's a silly problem I encountered:
Siege won't let you play Terrorist Hunt in offline mode. It completely locks the option out of the menu but, for some reason, it doesn't lock Multiplayer. Just a weird kink in the system that means you can't play singleplayer unless you're online.

No it hasn't, not by a long shot, the hit detection has been yoyoing since the game came out.
Around christmas it was great, near perfect, and then the next update after that they completely broke it and 2/3 headshots wouldn't count, and then they'd kinda fix it and then break it again in the next patch.
Currently the hit detection is pretty jankety, I've had enemies catching bullets with their teeth and taking only a sliver of damage, if any, despite seeing them bleeding profusely from the face, which is supposed to be the R6:S equivalent of hit confirmation.
It's not the worst it's been, but it's certainly not the best, at the very least ubi are aware it's fucked and will hopefully do something about it.

Not necessarily, Battlefield tries to let you destroy as much over Huge maps 2km2, while Siege only has to focus on rather small indoor areas, letting them allow a lot more detailed destruction.

In 2 out of 3 cases fuze is useful. And in that 1 out of 3 he is useful in placing the charge near the hostage room to catch anyone creeping out.
Problem is new players tend to barricade themselves in and new attackers won't know the maps or won't communicate enough to know when and where to place clusterbomb
