Good maybe nintendo will soon learn that doing the same thing over and over again doesn't work anymore and actual innovation is the name of the game now in the industry.
>>
>>339653441
This tbqh.

Though more accurately, i got disappointed when shiggy started the whole... "when i was little". Blah blah blah shrines.

I knew he'd do 64 again only safer, with odd controls all wrapped up in the shallowness that was the wii u.

And i was right, not even platinum could save it.

64 is way funner than Zero. Zero is a shallow attempt at 64.

>Nintendo EPD ever making a good game

>Do add that they would've easily made the game popular in japan by going all out with every single female in the game, Kstt, Krystal, everyone since Japan has a major hardon for waifu harem material. Zero did so bad in Japan, this would've most certainly boosted it dramatically

>Other than the drone sites that jerk it to Nintendo, every journalist finds Zero to be very dull and admits Star Fox 64 didnt age well in both that it's not that great and you grew out of it, not even Gameinformer liked it and Zeros review was on the very last page of their review section

>Zero only hit about 300k overall, which really is not that good at all, and this is a game the rehashes 64 yet again, the very game some people still think is the best game
>When 643D released, it also failed miserably, OoT3D kicking its ass a month after that released. It may of got up to almost a million since, but in five years that's terrible, not to mention OoT3D still tops it.

>>339673008

What's a console without games?
>>
>>339673234
OoT tops it cause Zelda has always been a bigger series than starfox.
>>
>>339673725

But think about it

>64 when it originally released did about as much as Splatoon did
>OoT and SM64 also were huge
>Suddenly as the years pass, Star Fox drops while Zelda and Mario continue to strive
>Some think it was because of the sequels, but because of Zero being a failure, it proves it wasnt their fault, but rather what was said for awhile
>Genre dying entirely, rehashing the same exact game again for the sake of nostalgia even though you can just get 64 for much less, the retarded standard there was just like there also was with Mario and Zelda (Sunshine and WW were hated because they werent like their 64 games), all the other shit people mentioned

You cant really say that because at one point, Star Fox was about as popular as it, it fails now because it was doomed when many consider it to be a now obsolete genre.

>>
>>339674487
Starfox has never been anywhere near Mario or Zelda.

And Mario has a fuckton of rehashes that still sell amazingly well.

Nintendo has an ton of franchises that fall into obscurity, Starfox is just another one of those series, the only thing that could save it at this point is either going the Kid Icarus route where it completely changes genres or goes the FE route and appeal to waifufags.

Why didn't they just plagiarize the Ace Combat games? Have the Star Fox team engaging in crazy aerial missions fighting giant gimmicky flying fortresses of doom and enemy aces or something. No gimmicky controllers, just one that feels good to handle.

The motion controls aren't inherently terrible by themselves. Infact, if you get used to how the game plays, they're arguably more accurate and capable than any of the previous games, period. The problem is that the whole "CINEMATIC CAMERA ANGLES" on the default TV camera combined with an inaccurate crosshair means you HAVE to use the motion controls and the Gamepad (or first-person view on your ship, which has an FOV awareness problem) to even remotely hope to shoot accurately. And not everyone can multi-task between the TV and the Gamepad.

What's worse, disabling the motion controls to a degree doesn't fix the problem, so you're essentially gimping yourself and thus there's no reason not to use motion controls. With the option being irrelevantly useless, it means that if you're not a fan of motion controls, can't get the hang of them, or can't adjust to TV and Gamepad swapping / first person, you bought a $60 paperweight because Miyamoto loves gimmicks with no player choice.

It is a tough sell with the motion controls and how willing you're to unlearn anything that the past games have taught you. I was never the best at them to begin with so I picked up early on with using the the right view at the right moment.

If you're looking to get a decent game for the Wii U this may scratch that itch, but for how long depends if you truly love it.. Found brand new Guard isn't so bad either in a bundle for less then $60.
>>
Each level could have had about twice the amount of enemies and maybe a few bosses could have be on rail rather than all range mode, but I don't get the hate the game gets here. The controls are difficult at first but if you actually put in the effort to learn them, they're pretty fun because you can start doing shit like shooting down Star Wolf mid somersault. They're not intuitive because we're not used to controlling two different kind of movement inputs, but learning something difficult and then mastering it is its own reward. Isn't that the whole point of games?

Also
>plot
>Star Fox

Who gives a shit, I just want to score attack. That's where the biggest fault of the game is, the levels are too fucking long. Cut the levels in half and give us a few more planets and we're good.

The moment they unveiled it I knew it was going to flop. It didn't have anything new or exciting to offer people who have been playing Star Fox games their whole life (like me) and was lacking one of the most important aspects (good controls). The visuals, presentation and production values made the game extremely unappealing to new players. Nintendo wanted to please new players and old fans but ended up pleasing no-one. The game has a few vocal defenders, but they don't actually like the game as much as they want people to think, and they clearly don't have much buying power.

If you want to see a franchise revival done right, look no further than Doom. It hits the right notes for people who played Doom when we were kids, while enticing new players with the promise of brutal action, kickass visuals and music, and fast gameplay with tight controls.

Star Fox deserved a much better game than Star Fox Zero. The few fans who insist otherwise are clearly so numb to disappointment that they will latch on to anything with the Star Fox name on it as long as it superficially resembles Star Fox 64, no matter how disappointing the end product was.

64 changed much more from SNES than Zero changed from 64, and the changes themselves were good too. 64 had great levels, a multiplayer mode, introduced the rumble pack, and actual decent controls.

People give 64 a pass because it was an actual good remake that brought a ton of improvements. Zero is almost an entire downgrade from 64 in an already outdated genre. If you're gonna remake, at least do it right, otherwise the SF64 "babies" have every right to bitch,

They do anything significantly different from 64, Zero is just a shittier 64 which is why nobody loves it

I love 64 but my personal favorite game in the series is Assault. Zero sucks.

Fuck no they weren't. The Landmaster and Blue Marine sucked dick. All-range mode was awkward to control and still is. The voice acting was annoying as fuck.

The only things 64 improved upon from the original were the graphics (actual textures instead of flat colors), framerate (which was only poor due to the game using the original version of the SuperFX chip), and the rumble pack. As an experience otherwise, it was inferior.

SF was a concise, focused game that didn't overcomplicate things with unnecessary bullshit.

I tried playing Star Fox in an SNES emulator with a "SuperFX over clock" feature.
Holy shit. 60 fps Star Fox is fun as fuck. I need to play Star Fox 2 with it.

A Star Fox game without Krystal is automatically a success.

You have low standards

There's no need, since Star Fox 2 uses the second iteration of the SuperFX chip that was twice as powerful. Same chip that was used in Yoshi's Island and the SNES port of Doom.

Is it time to make another RPG game like Adventures?
>>
Is Zero the one that is basically just a remake of 64?

Because that is exactly what I wanted, a modern Star Fox 64.

Except I heard it had shit controls.

From the looks of things Miyu just propositioned Fox and Krystal for a threesome.
