So, who else played the new Hitman level? Thoughts?

I thought it was good, but very underwhelming when compared with Sapienza. Uncomfiest setting so far, crowds were too big, the embassy was a pain in the ass because there were a dozen different guards that each saw through a different disguise, there wasn't as much fun dialogue and the areas felt emptier and there wasn't much cool creative shit to do either. It's still a good level, but I hope it ends up being the worst level of the game by the time we're done.
>>
>>339639347
Apparently not much people

I played it too and it's ok, but I like Paris and Sapienza much more
Paris was way smaller, but really well made

There is going to be a Japan and an America level right? I hope they will be better than this one

new one is harder than paris or sapienza, but sapienza is probably the most fun to fuck around at.

I liked lots of stuff to interact in marrakesh, it looks like they want people to create elaborate contracts.

Still can't find the perfect sniping spot, i have to arrange their meeting at the school and blast them from the headmaster roof, right?
>>
I told you fags this was gonna be uncomfy. This level feels like out of Silent Assassin with its difficulty. Definitely the hardest level so far, for good and for bad.
>>
Easily the worst of the three. This level really exposes how poor the lighting system is in outside environments though.

Im hoping the next level is something cool like the underground night club in BM
>>
>>339640541
How so? I got SA rank on 2nd try, 1st one was a stupid mistake when i didn't look at the minimap.
I'm really curious about the story.
>(((STRANDBERG)))

Morocco isn't comfy, but it's a good level. I like it more than Sapienza.
Do you think we'll have to fight the mysterious man who ruins everything for Providence?

>>
>>339642175
That actually makes sense. Best thing would be to get natives for each location and just add subs, but picking out shit in the crowd would be hard.
Kinda like in MGS3 you get dubbing, when despite the dialogue being in English, character says "Your Russian is superb"
>>
>>339641003
>Do you think we'll have to fight the mysterious man who ruins everything for Providence?
He's definitely gonna want to fuck 47 up. He implied very heavily at the beginning that the reason why Providence is as powerful as it is was because they used ICA and 47 to get there. He'll probably keep having 47 help take them down for that nice ironic end and then try to kill 47 so a second Providence doesn't happen.
>>
>>339642010
what do you mean? Does the format (episodes released once a month) bother you? Would the game be better if it was released all at once? All the episodes have been good so far (althought I like 1 and 2 better than the third one) and the format works well, I like to complete all the challenges, escalations, etc. in a level before the next one is released
>>
>>339641323

That's exactly what's happening. There are plenty of examples in Sapienza and Marrakesh where one of the shop sellers goes "What do you want" and the random NPC goes "I CAN'T SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE, CAN YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" even though they're both speaking English.
>>
>>339642931
Yeah, noticed that too.
I guess background noise in english, but important stuff, like opportunities being revealed etc. in native, louder and subtitles overriding the chitchat of random crowds?
Oh, and it seems that loading a save clears poison from bottles.

>>
I thought it was kinda easy, I guess just because I lucked out and immediately found th3 club card on the one rooftop and could get an isolated soldier in the bathroom, then get the building keycard.
First playthrough disguised as the masseur to kill the banker, then hid in the closet for the general when he goes to taunt the prisoner and garroted him.
Map is sort of linear, but good.
What really gets me is where the fuck are all the escalations and shit for this level?

>mfw pushing a toilet onto the general's head

The embassy was a cool idea for a setting but in practice it felt a bit empty, like there was only 4 rooms or so in it that were actually relevant. In Paris a much larger part of the house is relevant (you have the sheik guy's room, the lockdown room, the auction room, Dalia's room, the laptop room, etc.), but of course in that level the house is the entire level so I guess it is forgivable.

Overall so far I've had the most fun with Paris, but it's also the level that I've played the most simply because it was released first so there is an obvious bias.

Ever notice how each new level builds upon the previus ones? Paris was a combination of the 2 tutorial missions. Sapienza was Paris fused with the new *open* environment concept.

Marrakesh takes all previous level designs and makes it far more chaotic. So i'm wondering how are they going to build upon Morocco.

That's obviously what it's meant to be, but the fact that they don't even have accents is annoying. Hearing a Moroccan rug salesman speak in perfect English with Yuri Lowenthal's voice is pretty jarring in a series that traditionally had NPCs speaking their own native language. I'm hoping season 2 has a higher VA budget.
There's also a conspicuously British VA doing some of the female characters even though everyone else is American.

Marrakesh has a very similar design module compared to Sapienza and Paris.

The Swedish embassy place is basically the Villa in Italy, it's essentially a castle protecting the targets and requires infiltration. The abandoned school is the equivalent to the underground lab (it's out of the way and a fucking hastle every time).

In some ways the school is very similar to the tutorial mission where you have to assassinate the general, this is basically penis a recreation of that. Also... ever notice how there's always 2 targets?

That's because:
A. The missions would be piss easy if there was only one target
B. Having only one target would lead to a ton of wasted space.

I don't know why they haven't introduced 3-4 target missions yet, though.

Pretty much what you said. It's good, but I feel like the new Hitman is falling back into bad habits introduced by Absolution with all those guards who inexplicably can see through your disguise. On my first playthrough I managed to sneak into the consulate without a disguise, just wearing the black suit, and it was impossible to move an inch due to the guards hounding you mercilessly. I had to reload.

>>339640376
>Still can't find the perfect sniping spot, i have to arrange their meeting at the school and blast them from the headmaster roof, right?
I tried exactly that, only to find out you don't have a clear vision on the targets from the headmaster's roof. Managed to beat the Sniper challenge anyway. Here's how I did it:

>smuggle silenced sniper rifle to headmaster's roof
>sneak into consulate and trigger fire alarm
>rush to headmaster's roof
>knock out headmaster
>slide down the pipe
>take out the two guards next to you (you won't be able to dispose of them, so hide them as good as you can)
>wait for the meeting to take place
>position yourself so that the soldiers won't see you, but you can still hit your targets
>shoot them from the fence
>rush back to the pipe and climb up
>with a bit of luck you're out of sight before they can spot you
Very ghetto, but it worked.
>>
>>339661629
I like that mission, I wish the multiple targets amounted to more than just fatso's personal goons but whatever
>>
>>339663635
m8 the general goes to one of the windows at one point and it's an easy snipe, even without the a zoom-in rifle.

>>
there's something fucky with the consulate bathroom on the first floor, NPC's can see through the walls it seems and can see do naughty things in there. I was dragging a body in there and every time I picked it up the detection meter would go up so I'd drop it and it would go down. Had to do this a few times to move the body to the stall.

I went through an absurdly over complex method of getting into the shisha place and the cameraman's disguise.
Got the handman disguise from the roof, to sabotage the utility box, to distract the waiter, to get the key, to get the invite, rat poison the shisha, then get the disguise.
Then I found out I could just climb from the rooftop into the place and get the guy in the toilet by throwing a coin. Well that's part of the appeal of the game desu

Cool a Hitman thread. I've been thinking about getting this but I am curious about a few things.

How optimised is the game on PC? I'm running a 3.4ghz i5 3570, a 970 and 16gb of RAM, what sort of settings and frames will I be getting?

How much content is the game with currently? I know we have Paris, Sapienza and Marrakesh and another 3 more maps incoming, but what do you get in the maps? Do you only get 1 mission each with a huge amount of options or are there multiple missions set in different parts of the map?

How big are the maps too? How detailed are we talking about here? All interiors can be entered? Shitload of improvised weapons everywhere?

How well does the game play compared to Blood Money? No need to compare it to Absolution, it's already clear they're on completely different levels.

Is it worth it yet? I loved Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money. Even played through Absolution, trying to love it. Is there enough content to justify buying it now? Are the developers on track with delivering on what they promised?

Thanks in advance.

Maps are big and detailed. It's similar to Blood Money in a lot of good ways, but the scale is different from some of the best parts, like the small simplicity of A New Life. Not all interiors can be entered (in Sapienza and Marrakesh).

Replying because I tried to make a thread the other day about the 360 degree trailer and got no replies.

>How optimised is the game on PC? I'm running a 3.4ghz i5 3570, a 970 and 16gb of RAM, what sort of settings and frames will I be getting?
It's not optimized at all. There are regular frame drops.

>How much content is the game with currently? I know we have Paris, Sapienza and Marrakesh and another 3 more maps incoming, but what do you get in the maps? Do you only get 1 mission each with a huge amount of options or are there multiple missions set in different parts of the map?
1 mission with tons of content, plus escalation contracts (some good, most okay), elusive targets (infrequently), and player-made contracts (almost all terrible).
Paris and Sapienza gave me about 20 hours each, though I'll admit I was sometimes tabbed out and posting in Hitman threads.

>How big are the maps too?
Huge. Paris is the smallest of the three and it's a giant palace.

>How detailed are we talking about here?
Very.

>All interiors can be entered?
There are a lot of painted-on doors in Marrakesh and Sapienza.
However, Sapienza is full of shops you can enter, some of which have goodies in them.
I haven't explored Marrakesh very much yet.

>Shitload of improvised weapons everywhere?
Yes, mostly hand tools and things like bricks and soda cans.

>How well does the game play compared to Blood Money?
On par with Blood Money. If Marrakesh manages to be the worst level in the game, it will be better than Blood Money.

>Is it worth it yet?
If you're going to replay the levels dozens of times anyway, I'd say yes.
Note that it's $5 more if you buy the intro pack and then each level individually, rather than the full experience, so take that into account.

>Are the developers on track with delivering on what they promised?
Yes, with the caveat that they promised we'd have an elusive target on launch week but we didn't get the first one until two months later.
However, we got another one last week and if they keep pumping them out every other week or so I'll forgive them.

>How optimised is the game on PC?
My specs are similar to yours and I can run the game just fine. There are some slowdowns, especially in places with big crowds and lighting effects, but it never becomes a slideshow. Hitman never was a fast-paced game anyway, so it's not really a dealbreaker. You could argue however the game doesn't look that great considering how resource hungry it is.

>I know we have Paris, Sapienza and Marrakesh and another 3 more maps incoming, but what do you get in the maps?
4 maps, actually.

>Do you only get 1 mission each with a huge amount of options
Yes.

>How big are the maps too?
They are massive. Think of Blood Money's Mardi Gras level and a half, often twice as big with lots of options.

>How well does the game play compared to Blood Money?
It's very close to Blood Money in terms of level design, though it's lacking some of its gameplay options.

>Is it worth it yet?
That's a question you have to answer for yourself. If you have other shit to play and you're okay with waiting a month between levels, go for it. The replay value of the three levels they have released so far is incredibly high. In the past, you would play through a Hitman game for the first time, dick around a bit, uninstall it, get an itch months later and discover something new during that particular playthrough. Their business model kind of encourages you to make those additional playthroughs in a very short amount of time.

I guess I'll wait then. Total Warhammer is still fresh as fuck and Mirror's Edge Catalyst is coming out in a few days. I'll grab this once all the maps are released.

Also, what's this Season 2 another anon mentioned? Are these 6 maps just season 1?

Game runs like ass, but the maps are huge. It's the second best Hitman game as of now, not sure it will beat BM in my book but it will be close.
Here's Marrakesh's map, you can enter quite a few of the buildings, although the small ones have little to offer.

Apparently if Hitman 2016 does well in terms of sales, there will be more maps in the future.

The nose and hairstyle is similar, not to mention they brought him back as an easter egg in the sniper challenge thing.
He was said to have been working for a large, secretive organization in SA that was never explained.
I'm thinking that's what Providence is.

>>339669663
Yeah, it sounds plausible. It would be weird if they didn't use him after putting him in Sniper Challenge.
