I love them, seeing different parts of the world, time periods, alternate histories. I said I was going to stop after how bad 3 was but Black Flag dragged me back in. I don't care too much for the modern day stuff since Desmond died though.

In Syndicate I'm level 10 and only on sequence 4. There is no challenge now. I can just upgrade all my weapons. There is no need for me to go looking for all the collectibles when I can just do all the open world stuff and kill everything

To be fair, it's pretty easy to get bored by a Souls.
The moment you learn an enemy's full moveset is the moment it stops being actually dangerous
and if you still have to kill hundreds of them, it just feels like useless grinding
Only a few enemies are actually fun to fight over and over
Most of them are bosses and you have to complete the game to get to fight them again
