This happens every time a major game launches. The only exception I can think of was Dark Souls because it was genuinely universally loved at release.

popularity itself is triggering to some. Overwatch doesn't cater to try hards so that offends many people as well. Try hards get very offended when more casual games become more popular and successful than others. They feel that their try hard attitude should make them invincible and ultimate's in overwatch ensure that noobs can get kills as well regardless of skill. There are many reasons for them and hipsters to get upset.
Just ignore the try hards, they'll go back to stomping pubs and feeling good about themselves whenever the hype for overwatch dies down. Overwatch offers enough of a skill ceiling to be enjoyable and allows for you to stand out while not entirely destroying the match for the enemy team fun wise.
The thing that triggers them the most is that they can't stop it. This game is fun, gambling micro transactions for insignificant skins is appealing to some and doesn't effect gameplay at all and this game simply is not objectively bad enough to matter. It triggers them so much that it makes people want to spite them further for their impotent rage.

I don't mind it personally but over exposure of anything will make people get annoyed from it and since it does eventually people will look for reasons to hate the game that are beyond that.
