Use the knife a lot.
Many of them are weak to it or have an alternate way of dealing damage to them anyway.
blacktail, riot gun, semi-auto rifle. some people prefer the striker but its only advantage is being smaller. you don't need a 100 round drum and you don't need a wider spread, you just need damage.

yes, as with the blacktail over the red9 it has a higher damage per second thus is more practical. also gives you more room for error when dealing with regenerators.

Beat it on PS2 once. The dualshock definitely makes it the worst version of RE4. Bought the re-release on the 360 the day it came out, and probably beat it 20 times.
