Dreamcast was a huge innovator for it's time, first console to have an actual modem in it. The memory card was next generation level, even the architecture was next generation. It's a shame it died so fast actually. Japanese indie devs are still making dreamcast games to this day, because it's such an interesting system.
I had one it was otherworldly compared to that generation. If the dreamcast showed up at a better developer time and if Sega didn't fuck up acquiring working developers for it. It may have been more then just Sega titles. Phantasy Star online and Sonic DX were probably the best games the system had to offer the former requiring an internet connection which most people back then simply still had AOL dial up.
I remember growing up with the dreamcast, but never being able to take advantage of the online functions because of shitty internet in a shitty slum apartment.

Playing Halo 2 online was worth an Xbox alone. It was such an amazing experience at the time, nothing in the PS2's library could replace that to me.
