The poor server infrastructure aside, overall it's a game that lacks content and variety.
When I played the open beta, I expected the final release to have at least moderately expanded content. Instead it was literally identical to the beta, which was baffling.
The game could really benefit from widely expanding the gameplay modes, and not just more permutations of 6v6 traditional PVP modes. Something like a PvE mode similar to what TF2 has with Mann vs Machine would be a perfect fit for overwatch, but no such thing is exists. Also given Blizzards refusal to embrace modding or player-run content, I can't see this game having the same longevity as CS or TF2 with their endless wealth of custom maps and mods.

Balance issues in general, I can't comment on the exact problems the balance contains, I've yet to see a game that was "fair" or "good".

Gameplay wise, how many characters can do an near instagib with only "know where they are" to counter it. Stuff like

I'm pretty sure at this point that the current matchmaking system isn't based on hidden MMR, but is just based on the average level of all players combined on a team, so you have high level players who are still shit at the game getting mixed in with higher skill players.
90% of my matches are absolute stomps one way or another.

Since they split voice communication into 2 separate channels (team and group) it's impossible to actually talk to all 5 of your teamates unless you're in a 6 man stack.
>Balance changes aren't aggressive enough
Mcree and Widowmaker have both been VERY well known powerhouses in the pro scene, even during the closed beta, neither Mcree nor Widowmaker has seen a nerf in months and both characters are ridiculously overtuned.
Imbalance is bound to happen but the fact that Blizzard has taken months to tone down two blatantly overpowered heroes is a pretty bad indicator of what's to come.

Torb turrets are probably the most unfun thing in the game right now imo. No turn rate, no damage falloff, perfect accuracy, can be rebuilt very quickly, and a laser/beeping to point out exactly where you're trying to ambush from. It's such an obnoxious pain to deal with a torb with even a semi-competent team. I don't know why that costs scrap and the armor doesn't. He should start with enough scrap to build 1 turret, and armor packs should be kind of like symmetra shield booster.

I'm not really on his side but Bastion and Tobjorn turrets get absolutely fucked by Hanzo, Widowmaker, Mcree, and Pharah. When you're playing with an incompetent team that's going to seem like an unfair matchup, but actually watch what your team is doing. I've seen Reapers run into two turrets, die immediately, respawn, run to the same spot, and die again. Bastion and Torbjorn are walking casual filters. Eventually you stop seeing them so often.

The tryhard strat is
torb/bastion + reinhardt/winston, widow, lucio, mercy,mcree, and the last spot can be whatever. I almost always see this shit in fucking pubs it's absolutely cancer. This shit is even pulled off in comp matches I saw on stream.
Even if your team manages to break their defense, mercy has an ult that takes like 30 seconds to charge to either save face or revive their essential player (widow/mcree).

-Almost every map has only 1 exit in the base
-Map feels very narrow and linear
Characters characterization
-They don't have that many lines and those lines even feel lifeless on most cases (like all of their lines on their commands)
-They don't interact with each other and the environment too well. (I know that they often talk with each other during preparation time but that's it really. Everything else are just some bland shit)
Lack of gamemodes
-Overwatch only has 3 game modes (4 to be exact but I don't find the hybrid one a proper game mode. It's just a combination of 2 other game modes that's it.)
-Shit like Arcade mode is not a proper game mode. It's just some add-on to the existing gamemodes.
-If I recall, Blizzard mentioned that they have no plans on adding some (wacky) gamemodes.
No custom maps and servers
-To be exact with the servers part, it doesn't make people make their own private servers just like in TF2.
-There will be a time when I am bored with the game's default maps. Since there's no support with custom maps, it makes the game go boring faster.
Only a maximum of 12 players per game
-If I play a MOBA game, it's understandable if there's like a maximum of 6 players per team. But since Overwatch is an FPS, the game feels barren with the limitation of players.
-I know the game is focused on the 6vs6 format (which I'm pretty sure that one of the reason for this is for e-sports) but come on, I expected at least a way to toggle the amount of players per game.
OST
-The OST in overwatch feels bland, boring, and forgettable

Overall the game feels meh. The game can still be fun, but with it's gameplay, maps, and modes it has to offer, that fun will only last for like 7-15 minutes.
The game is just unbalanced as a competitive game.
