SO disappointed in this game.

I thought the mechanical power ups would be fun & new, and they were, but they come at a high cost. I love collecting & finding secrets as much as the next person, but having to collect multiple cubes per level JUST TO PROGRESS is annoying & takes the fun out of the game.

The way the cubes are hidden is what really makes the game annoying, instead of just being able to keep an eye out for them, you REALLY have to pay attention. Throughout the levels you're constantly worrying about missing one. The levels are designed in such a way as to punish the player. They trick you & attempt to make you miss cubes. If you do fall for one of these traps, suddenly you have to do the ENTIRE LEVEL OVER in most cases. Hows that fun?

Basically they turned what could've been a fun game into a game where you must be constantly focused & constantly worrying about what tricks lay ahead or that you may have missed a cube. Even if the cubes were localized at the start or the end of the level, at least then you could work on finding them & then just enjoy the rest of the level carefree. Sadly thats not the case, they are hidden evenly throughout the entire level so you have to focus on finding them & avoid being tricked the ENTIRE TIME.

EVEN THE REWARD FOR COLLECTING THEM ALL, THE BONUS LEVELS, ALSO HAVE CUBES TO WORRY ABOUT COLLECTING.

Whats even worse is the stick collecting. Although not required, there is no real point as their only use is to stick them on your mech. Big deal, certainly not worth sacrificing EVEN MORE OF YOUR FUN just to look for & obtain these stickers.

Really disappointed in this game & if given the chance to do it over again, I would've just avoided it.

Theres a way to do item collecting correctly, and then theres the way this game has done it, the way which sucks all fun out of the game & turns it into an obnoxious mess.

You have no room to complain if you pirated it.
>>
Why are you typing like an autist? It makes your already retarded post painful to read.
>>
I think the game's overrated but the Code Cubes aren't part of the problem.

The way you're posting doesn't help either.
>>
>>339493291
So, what Kirby games do you like?

>>339494260
Hey leave them alone, they're giving their honest opinion of the game.

>>339494248
Whether they pirated it or got the foreign version legitimately is of no concern, they played it and didn't enjoy it, what's the problem in having an opinion?
>>
If you ever need to backtrack into a level just to unlock the boss door, their is something wrong with you. It isn't that difficult to get enough code cubes.

None of the levels are paticularly long either, so going back into a level for 100% is no big deal either.
>>
>>339494248
what are you talking about i PAYED for it
>>339494260
how am i typing like an autist? stop being mad i insulted your game
>>
>>339494574
theres no FUN then
its all about the fucking collecting
OH BOY I MISSED A CUBE, TIME TO REDO THE LEVEL AND LOOK REALLY CAREFULLY FOR IT
OOOOPS I WALKED TWO INCHES TOO FAR & CANT GO BACK NOW, OH WELL MAYBE NEXT TIME XDD
>>
I played through the game when it got leaked and the only cubes I had trouble finding were the two that you need to unscrew a portion of the level to find.

Sorry you have some sort of OCD and can't skip the occasional cube and go back to it later
>>
>>339494765
oh wow are you 15 years old?
>>
>>339494869
if you skip cubes then you dont get to play the bonus levels, which add up, thats ALOT of levels to just skip
>>
>>339494765
Don't do it if you don't like it.
100% completion shouldn't just get handed out you baby.

Are you the anon who complained about Pokemon Black/White being dead games with too much emotion leading to no emotion?

I said nothing about skipping the bonus levels. If you wanna throw a tantrum about collectables, you should probably just find them later after you beat the game for some added replay value.

did you have this much trouble in triple deluxe as well?

>>

>>
>>339496130
On /vp/ yeah, pretty much every thread that pops up on it about BW or BW2 in particular the past few days this same guy keeps coming in typing up the same argument all over again with a style similar to the OP.
>>
I don't have a 3DS but this sounds a lot like a typical Kirby game. Sorry you're too retarded to figure out secrets before it's too late.
>>
Do you actually need to collect cubes in order to progress with the main game, or is it just to unlock bonus levels like they did with the collectibles in Triple Deluxe?

If it's the former, OP is a retard, this is something that classic platformers have been doing forever.
>>
>>339493291
Literally git gud, I found most of them by easily, even the ones that you needed to play with the levers to get. Most of the levels are at maximum only 8min. and a second run will most likely be half the time. I enjoyed the fact that I always missed one to have an excuse to play certain levels again. The game does a good job of showing you where they are and the levels center around the ability you need to get the cube. Maybe if you stop ability hoarding for once, then you could get them one run smartass.
>>
>>339496525
You need some to enter the boss levels, yes. It's usually not many though.
>>
>>339496373
This hidden collectables in Kirby games are very obvious like the classic hidden collectable being in the beginning of a level by going left.
>>
>>339496525
You usually need 5 to 6 cubes to open a boss door and in each level there are 3 cubes to collect 1 being easy while the other ones are a bit trickier. Even if you manage to miss almost all of the tricky ones you can still open the boss door because there are about 5 levels per area. That's about 15 cubes.
>>
>>339496525
shit, I meant to say "latter", not former.

>>339496628
that's not that bad then. it sounded like OP was saying you needed to collect EVERY cube in the level before you could even go to the next level. if it's just "you need to collect at least some to access the boss" then it's pretty much just a casual filter which is fine. it also makes speedrunning the game a lot more interesting because you have to figure out which collectables to get and which ones to skip to save time.
>>
>>339494248
I actually thank the pirates this time around - maybe we'll get a Kirby game with effort, next time.
>>
>>339494260
>upset but thought-out critique post
>AUTISM

And that's why I don't give 2 shits about what happens to this website.
>>
>>339496573
I didn't have a problem with it like OP, but it does put a damper on fun having to constantly worry about missing anything. Dream Land 3 did the best job at level-specific goals I think. There's plenty of variety in the way you help each person, they follow a kind of pattern from world to world, and you see the character you're helping in the overworld so you can get a vague idea of what you're supposed to do.
>>
>>339493291
Yeah so anyway, how often do you get to pilot the robot anyway? Is it like the ultra powerups in RtD and the supernova in TD? Or is it more frequent than just a "Mow through the last 30% of the stage" kinda thing?
>>
>>339497482
>Is it like the ultra powerups in RtD and the supernova in TD?
Pretty much.
>>
>>339497482
It's pretty well integrated, I never experienced a point where I wanted more or less robot, it was a nice balance.
>>
>>339497293

Seems like most modern Kirby games (since RtDL at least) have their collectables being easily missable with points of no return, to force you to replay levels multiple times. The way I deal with this is I try to collect everything on my first playthrough, but if I miss some stuff then I don't go back and replay the levels where I'm missing stuff until I've gotten to the end of the game, or when I need to collect more stuff to proceed. Doing it this way instead of replaying the level again immediately after you beat it for the first time, reduces the tediousness a lot.

>collecting is bad, guys!

I'm done with this millenial ass board.
>>
is it too much to ask for a 3d kirby, like the the world in Mario 64?
you know, where actual fun can take place rather than tired old nonsense?
>>
I agree OP.

I hated Robobot's collectathon.

I enjoyed myself much more with Meta Knight's mode because I didn't have to worry about the damn cubes or the stickers.

The best part of Robobot for me were the bosses, even if they rely a bit in nostalgia, I had a blast with all of them.
>>
>>339497810
You're a millenial.
>>
>>339497097
>People pirated the game

lol no
>>
>>339497810
I played Donkey Kong 64, one of the biggest collectathons in the world & I enjoyed it
Just like the Banjo games
there is a way to do it right & then theres a way to do it wrong
This kirby game does it wrong & sucks the fun out of the game
it literally makes it a chore
so dont compare this shit fest collecting to GOOD collecting games
>>

is it really worse than triple deluxe's?
>>
>>339498136
If you were born after 1981 and you're still posting anime girls on /v/, I seriously pity you.
>>
>>339498193
It's more or less the same.

The biggest up from Triple Deluxe is that Robobot is properly integrated into the game unlike Hypernova that puts everything to a stop whenever it happens.
>>
>>339498193

no

you can easily find more than enough cubes on your first try if you aren't retarded
>>
>>339498313
>Hypernova that puts everything to a stop whenever it happens.
'No'
>>
>>339497037
most of the cubes are pretty obvious anyways. they always hand you enough cubes to unlock the area boss.
You gotta be really fucking retarded, like the OP, to not have enough cubes by the time you reach the boss door.
>>
>>339498012
If I wanted to play "You have to retrace your steps four times" 64, I would have played Achievement Hunter.

the anti shill is real. I'm surprised you didn't end with "Im glad I pirated" Like you usually do
>>
>>339498527
Hypernova definitely does put a stop to regular gameplay, same with the super abilities. Super ability pushes itself in your face, and Hypernova skips the pushing and makes it fucking required to beat the level.

It really isn't
