That would definitely be the more likely option of the two, but I'd personally prefer in-game use out of my amiibo's.
For example, use amiibo to Zero Suit Dva and orange paint her mech, when using this skin, her ultimate changes from the mech self destruct to time Morph Ball where she can roll around real fast and drop fair damage bombs every where.
