So yeah, after yesterday's update thing they came up with this
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/payday-3-confirmed-microtransactions-eliminated-as/1100-6440324/
Now that Payday 3 is oficially a thing can we expect a quality game without a truckload of shitty DLC packages? Will you buy it?
Probably not, I'll just stick with 2, which I only still play for my crew, the music, and the characters now anyway
They said at Paydaycon last Summer if they were making Payday 3 that it was a last resort and that they would be in financial straights so gg overkill.
Also post mains.

Oh really? Never got to see that, as that article reads i just interpreted that they were under somebody's else control and now they want their independence back to make a new game, that's sad
>>339485212
Yeah the 100th Update video said that they now own all the rights to the game so maybe they were speaking for the controlling parties back then, maybe not, I dunno.
It was kind of an offhand comment during one of the informal dev panels so eh. All I know is they should have chosen a larger venue and that the cosplay contest was shit.
they never confirmed payday 3 or ever mentioned it
>>339486029
Read the article m8, i would pastebin and shit but i'm on the Phone from some god forsaken mountain so eh
I may get it eventually but im not going to preorder like i did 2.
>>339484670
>Now that Payday 3 is oficially a thing can we expect a quality game without a truckload of shitty DLC packages? Will you buy it?
After the shitfest that was payday 2? Why would anyone expect anything from payday2
>>339486243
The article has nothing to back that claim up, all that was announced is additional support for Payday 2 until 2018. All that happened is their new contracts mention the rights to a 3rd game.
>>339484670
its just bullshit corporate move to sell more of Payday 3.
I am betting in one year something will 'happened' that makes the game use MT again.
Consolefag here. I'm guessing they abandoned Xbox/PS4? Had zero updates since the crimewave edition came out. They ever implement that hideout upgrade thing or was that abandoned too?
>>339486949
no and they never will, all we can ever expect from the game is new heists and characters, never and real features
>>339486527
1 was great tho, i begged for more DLCs for 1
>>339484670
>Falling for the Payday meme
>never again
Well Payday 2 is so much better than it was at launch. Hope they can get simon back to do music though.
They would HAVE to have alot of content on launch for it to be worth it though.
Im more interested onDarrylbeing announced as new heister at e3.
>>339488374
Maybe this time they manage to roll with aa engine that is not complete SHIT
>>339486949
>consoles
>updates
Consoles make updating unnecessarily impossible, the game dev has to front like $1000 just to push though a small hotfix, please see TF2 which got like, one whole update on consoles it's entire life
>>339488947
I didn't even know TF2 was on consoles
If you want my opinion, they should just do what Shovel Knight did and make all DLC free. Payday 2 fell into the Destiny effect, which is basically the idea that DLC is optional, but everyone else has it, so the devs extort you and you pay willingly.
>>339486029
donacdum
Speaking of Payday I made a Wolf plushie that I totally forgot to shill here and on /pdg/ anyone care to see?
>>339490968
Yeah sure
I always wished that Payday had similar pace to SWAT where it was very methodical and everyone died in two bullets
Honestly, horde mode and waiting for drill malfunction simulator isn't a lot of fun
>>339491221
Then just play SWAT fgt
Just a reminder, overkill did not fucked up on day 1 release, but they fucked up by breaking promises.
>Payday2 perfect game at launch
>Promise to fix some bugs
>Takes a hundred patches to fix some of the day 1 bugs
>Promise to balance the game
>Nerf vanilla guns, buff cops, and put OP DLC guns.
>Promise no microtransactions
>Go to steam store and look at how many dlcs the game has.
>Promises payday3 will be good.
>???
>Profit!
I am not going to touch payday3 no matter how good their initial release were, because overkill lost all the credibility in my opinion.
>>339491221
I preffer 1's playstyle over 2's tho. Every game starts as Stealth but theres no plan B, just fuckall and retry
>>339491152
I was planning on making a little set of meth chems and loot but I got antsy to start a different project after making the Muriatic Acid.
>>339489940
orangebox
which tells me you weren't gaming in 2007 because EVERYONE on consoles had OB and played just portal
shit, tf2 on consoles is the only vanilla experience left
>>339491982
My first and only console (not handheld) was FAT Ps1, so no, i've always played on PC
>>339484670
I didn't want to give Overkill another dollar, but I do want Payday 3.
>>339484895
My boy Chains.
>>339491832
That's pretty good actually, i would ask you for one
Why would they remove micro-transactions? All that would do is piss off the people they bought into the micro-transactions, and it's not like the people who left because of them will come back.
>Bo, Ulf, and Simon gone from the studio
>"no seriously, no microtransactions this time, we pinky-swear!"
Nah, man.
>>339490596
ON THE GODDAMN GROUND
WUBWUBWUBWWUBWUWUBWBUWUBWUBWBWUB
>>339492734
Simon still works for them, he's just freelance now so he can have more opportunities
Is the best dlc unlocker still pirate perfection?
>>339484670
REMOVE DIESEL ENGINE
>>339491832
I want it.
>>339491760
This is a great summation of the situation.
>>339493774
My next planned one is Jacket, actually
