For a first fighter, it can be really difficult to stomach on the sheer amount of information you might have to handle. On the other hand, you still might find it really fun because it's a lot more fast paced than Street Fighter, which is something that seems to put off casuals quite often. That and the movesets vary in the coolest and craziest ways.
If you get into it for the summer and dedicate time to it during that season, so long as you practice your stuff and know what to look out for, you should be able to grasp the fundamentals needed for a fighting game.
PS3 version IIRC has cross netplay with PS4, so yes, Revelator's netplay should be healthy so long as you know when and where to find matches.

Uh, there IS robotic filter and you can hear it, it's just rather weak.
Robo had a different voice actor every single game tho, in Reload and AC both he even had two at the same time. The voice takes getting used to but once you do, it's wonderful.
Old Reload Robo voice (unless you have no taste and mean the absolute shit voice from Accent Core?) wouldn't fit, it'd ruin the cooler, badass moments Robo has later on in the game.
