They dropped support for it way too fast though, it doesn't even work on Win7 unless you run XP mode...

I really wanted it to work well. I didn't care for the online multiplayer aspect or whatever else. All I really wanted with it was to transfer my legit Pokemon from the emulators to my actual cartridge to transfer them into the recent games. I wasn't expecting it to have problems on Windows 7. Even running it in XP mode or even in a virtual machine running Windows XP was beyond inconsistent.

I eventually got another workaround going for it, but that device working would have made it much easier.

How does a mic made exclusively for one game not qualify as useless?
>>

Because you use it with that one game. It has a use. That one game. Stuff being sold for a single title isn't new. For a very long time, that was the Transfer Pak's sole purpose: Pokemon Stadium 1 only.

Nintendo didn't say "In addition to Hey You, Pikachu, use the new microphone in many great future N64 games!" If they did that, then yes, I'd agree with you.

The last hardware revision of the 360 also dropped S/PDIF support. I wonder why they did that.

I guess it's for royalties reasons and that they figure if you have a HD console you have an HDTV that will accept HDMI and support S/PDIF output.

HD-DVD had a much faster transfer rate, but much lower capacity than Blu-Ray. It's like Betamax versus VHS. Betamax was infinitely superior, except that it only held 30 minutes instead of three hours.

The Gamecube adapter came completely out of nowhere. No one was asking for it, even the turboautists that refuse to play Smash without Gamecube controllers. Making it not compatible with anything else, especially Wii games, is still pretty retarded.

People were hand wiring Game Cube controllers to the 3DS and GamePad circuits just so they could play with than controller.

Many Smash communities said that they weren't going to buy the game if they couldn't use the GC Controller.

They were asking for that shitty adapter.

Not useless.

Sure, the only official Wii U game to use it is Smash. But, if you hacked your Wii backwards compatibility mode, you can play GameCube games with the original controllers using Nintendon't. Actually, you can use any HID-compliant USB controller, but I'd imagine most folks would prefer the authenticity of the GC controller.

And as already mentioned, these adapters work on PC as well, for emulation on Dolphin and shit

I pay taxes (to the government) for my house, for my income, for my car and for some services. They amount to less than 15% of my income and I make a lot more than minimal wage, I don't know what Americans have against taxes, I got my degree out of a public college that didn't cost me a dime, got medical treatment when I need it and have services and even government subsidize when I studying and on top of that we aren't swimming in rapefugees like most of europe.
