Obsolete is subjective. I know a guy who was still running a gtx 295. It still plays games well enough at 900p for the owner to not give a fuck. But the fan started whining and SLI kept turning off. So this same guy went and bought a 980ti kingpin with water block and a g sync 1440p monitor.
Same with my other friend who is still running 3 radeon 7970ghz models to this day. See the difference here though? 750 is budget tier and the 970 is mid tier. Of course they'll go "obsolete" first compared to top tier.
