I Just got pauosupa da or whatever the fuck its called, which is a spin off of gradius III which I own and its really weird and costs like 15c bucks with free shipping from japan. really neat shit. I love videogames

unless a game has issues being emulated, emulation is always the best option. higher res, save states, using any controller you want, everything playable from 1 platform, widescreen patches.

snes games run great but the problem is most snes games are expensive as shit. SFC games are way cheaper. If its and RPG though ur shit outta luck. what im trying "trying" to say is. haing a real collection is way more fun especially with friends. Emulation takes up less space but shit like my ps2 emulator or whatever runs like ass, buy the real stuff. You know back in the day this shit ran great on actual consoles you know. spend less money on ancient shit and more on your pc and you'll be able to emulate just fine. my 4690k runs most ps2 games at 6-8x res. never mentioned gamecube nor dolphin. both of those emulate amazingly too.

emulating is fine when a game you want costs over 150 dollars but seriously emulating all your games is fucking lame.Not having your consoles right in front of you. Not having your friends actually pick up a genuine controller, assuming you have any, and playing a coop or competition game on your couch while laughing and haveing a blast as the most fun moments ever beat any artificial gameplay on emulation. I emulate all the time. Like cubeivore for example. Im not paying 180 dollars for that crappy game. But PHYSICALLY owning that game and popping in a console is way more fun when your buddies come over to play something that is a genuine piece of history.

i just don't see the attachment to the physical thing. i have my old consoles still, some games for them of course. but starting with ps1 i just chipped everything / soft modded them until i stopped buying consoles all together. to me part of the greatness of emulation is replaying old games at higher res and stuff. unless its a game that doesn't emulate right, i'd be worsening my whole experience by using the real thing.
