Dark Souls 3 was just Dark Souls 1 rehashed. They even kept old outdated weapon animations for sole purpose of nostalgia. The game took no risks, brought almost no innovation to the series, and was played completely safe and risk free with the appeal to nostalgia. By far the worst souls game.

Have the game start at Black Swordsman, then go through Golden Age
Guts would get new swords like he does in the manga and his armor would change accordingly as well.
Stamina would be practically endless but if you take too much damage it starts depleting a lot quicker than normal. Health would work similarly, the more hits you take the more damage you receive. Along with these, make it so that your damage increases as well when close to death.
Boss fights against Snake Baron, Count, Griffith, Zodd and all the bigger fights in the manga.
The game would utilize a similar ish cutting mechanic as in MGRR
The eclipse wouldn't be a "lets strip you of your weapons and make you stumble around in the dark all cinematic", but an actual gameplay sequence. You could fight the apostles with broken off limbs like Guts uses in the manga, eventually it would become humanly impossible to fight back any longer and you'd get pinned down
Then just continue through the Black Swordsman arc and progressively make Guts stronger

I think Sword of the Berserk actually had the right idea. These days, it's easy to look at it as small, janky, and insignificant, but it created an original story with the same character, coherent with the manga that doesn't effect the manga's progression at all. I'd say make another Gaiden, but include more of what makes Berserk unique. Guts isn't "a badass." He's a mess, and he's constantly having to clean up even bigger messes. That's what's attractive about it. Obviously, make the game play fucking good.

I think it has something to do with the incredible cinematography of that section. It's the first time in the story we see Guts at his most mad, and it is chilling. It's also the first time (i think) that we get visible, onscreen rape and it is horrific. I also love how they convey that Gut's eye has been taken from him-, on http://www.mymanga.me/manga/Berserk/102/13 they show the blood dripping from his eye, showing it's been badly damaged. The last thing he see's is Griffith raping his waifu, and holy shit does it just make my blood boil.

Dragon's Dogma on a larger scale. The game would play out like a medieval fantasy with low magic, but things here and there.
Then the birth of the final Godhand, and fantasia would turn everything on its head. DD already has almost the perfect combat system, and I really like the idea of leading a sort of band. You wouldn't play as Guts and crew, but their actions would influence the world around you.
Options would include taking mercenary work, and even participating in battles. Magic equipment would exist, but be incredibly scarce. Basically, I'd want the whole world to feel like Bitterblack Isle during the second half. Then, you'd be forced to make real tactical decisions as monster and Apostles alike run amok.
A light and hopeful fantasy setting would turn to despair as you claw out a meager victory, or flee for your life.

It's likely that his demon form is from some sort of idol or totem. He's far older and more powerful than any of the others. If the Skull Knight is the ancient king from those stories, and is well familiar with Zodd, I assume that we're going to get a bit more of his story.

People will shit at the idea but Dynasty Warriors would set a good example of the speed and strength that Guts would have in facing down most enemies. The question is how do you balance the meat grinder with gameplay and skill? If you could play Guts as the master swordsman that he is it would be lame if you could just do it by spamming button combos. Despite the praise and comparisons, Souls-esque games are way too rigid to get it right (Bloodborne is a little more fluid so it would be best to use it for perspective) and Platinum-esque would likely make Guts feel too light and the Dragonslayer too weak before he gets the Berserker armor. Even most apostles can barely survive a few hits from the Dragonslayer and only manage because Guts can be slow and weak compared to them (again before he gets the Berserker armor). How can that translate into fun gameplay?
