Kojima is such a fucking hack he thought the ending to MGS2 was a perfect point to drop the whole series. Why the hell would you expect quality instead of "quality" from a man like that

What the fuck are you talking about? The outer heaven uprising is referenced in every MGS game. MGS 3, PW, and TPP are all about Big Boss, the villain in the 2D MSX games.

In a lot of ways it was. I understand how people could have found its lack of explicit resolution unsatisfying, but on a thematic level the game is a very conclusive artistic statement, and Raiden and Solid Snake both have complete character arcs that don't exactly demand revisiting. Keeping the Patriots mysterious was the right move, too.

Kojima wanted to teach the world a lesson, it might be important, but when you try to teach it through such a blatant cruel joke, that lesson will never be learned.

Kojima was way too arrogant during mgs2 time and the lack of resolution, the bait and switch, the lack of a true snake side of the story (snake tales was also kojimas way to get back and insult people who legitimately wanted answers) is a clear proof of that.

Until the truth between kojima and konami is actually revealed i will never complaint about mgs5, but, for mgs2 i want to know where he lives to give him a swift kick to the balls.

The promotional material being so overtly misleading was excessive, but otherwise there's nothing cruel about MGS2. It's actually a very optimistic and warm game, despite the eerie events and the ways it subverts expectations.

It didn't need one. MGS2 has plenty of Solid Snake. His circumstances, motivations, and goals are not at all cloudy. Kojima didn't even write Snake Tales.

MGS2 didn't do everything perfectly, but did it demand a sequel? Not really, and given the content and thematic focuses of the game it's easy enough to understand why Kojima felt things were better left as they were.
